Question TTC! Need some success stories & help

My DH and I have been TTC since Oct. and I was just disgnosed in May. Right now I'm waiting for AF so that I can go have an HSG on Day 6 and then the cycle after that I can finally start Clomid. I'm pretty sure that I O because I take my BBT and it does always go up and then I get AF 11-13 days later. Which means that I am Oing right? My last cycle I ovulated on Day 59, so I had a 71 day cycle, my longest to date. Right now I'm at day 46. So I really should O within the next 2 weeks. Any advice on what I can do to get my body ready to try and conceive? Also I need some success stories if anyone can share. Its wonderful to know that all of us are in this pcos thing together but its a little depressing to find out how hard its been on so many to conceive. I'm still hoping that the first round of Clomid does it. Maybe I'm just being naive.... But then again I'd rather be hopeful than depressed.

Dont get down ttc is a long process. I conceved my twins on clomid. I conceved after 9 months of clomid. If you dont know if you are ovulating you can go and get ovulation tests. They are carried by most drug store and walmart they are around $20.00. They will help ywu with your TTC schedule.

I know that TTC is very hard and for me I found out that I had PCOS when I was ttc my 3rd child. I was trying for over a year and a half. WHen I was diagnosed my fertility doc prescribed me Metformin and I was taking it for about 3 weeks and then I found out that i was PG.I couldn't believe that i got PG with MET alone and because of met i now have a beautiful little girl who will be turning 3 in 2 weeks. Are you taking MEt? No matter what please don't give up cause it will happen for you. I am sending baby dust to you right now..........

Question

Thank you ladies for your advice! I am taking Met, 1500mg a day. The most annoying thing is that I never know when I will ovulate. Someone gave me their old clearblue easy monitor but I had to reset it halfway through my cycle because it said I should be getting AF and I still hadn't O'd. And since the sticks are so expensive I only test every other day and when I get a medium reading then I test every day. But my temp just went up and the monitor was still saying low yesterday. Could it go from low to high in a day?

Taryn,

Hi! from a Jersey girl!
I have been ttc #1 for 6 years now. Just always remember, this is what my dr told me, it is very hard to use a bbt and opk because with PCOS, our hormones are never right and you can get false pos and negs. Now, in my case, I do not do any of those tests because of those reasons.
Good that you are on the met, that will help alot. Have you tried clomid?
good luck!

Thanks Michaele. I haven't tried clomid yet but I will as soon as I have a cycle and have the HSG, the following cycle I'll be able to start clomid.

Hi Taryn! I'm on my first round of clomid right now. I *should* be ovulating right now if it worked, but I'm too chicken to use an OPK because I don't want to be let down, and we're trying to stay relaxed about the whole thing. I also don't temp or chart because I work shift work, so it's hard for me to get up to temp at the same time everyday. If the first couple of rounds of clomid don't take then I will start temping. I understand completely about wanting to stay positive about it all...I'm the same way, and it doesn't seem naive to me at all! I really really would love if this first round worked and I get pregnant quickly, but I am not giving up if it doesn't. It will happen. Sorry I don't have more advice for you, but I just wanted to let you know that you're definitely not alone! Good luck to you!

Hiya Taryn - to SC!! We're so glad you found us!

A temp spike could be a good indication that you're possibly O'ing... have any of your cycles been monitored (i.e. u/s or P4 test)? Unfortunately not all women who have PCOS can use OPK's (ovulation prediction kits) b/c of high LH readings - BUT there are many of us who can use them. I would suggest maybe picking some up and testing during a time that you know you aren't O'ing to see if you have a surge. These tests are fairly inexpensive and can be found at any drug store.

You should come see us on the TTC Board - there are alot of women going the some of the same things that you are.

Oh yeah... you also stated that you're waiting on AF right now... is your doc inducing AF with progesterone? Just curious
