Default TTC with PCOS for 5 Years Now...

Hi Everyone! I am a new user but, I have been reading for a few months now..I decided I want to share my story because I would love to view the links on this site and meet a few new people with the same problems as me..I was diagnosed with a number of illnesses as a child (Just 5 years old), I had juevenile rhumatoid arthirits which caused very high fevers when I was younger and I was put on many medications my entire life..I am now 28 years old and I dont have the fevers anymore but, I get alot of pain in my joints as well as alot of other auto immune problems..I NEVER really had a normal period, I got my first period at age 12 but, it never came regular after that..I would have to take provera every three months to make a period come on for many years..I have been with my husband for 8 years now and we have been ttc for about 5 years..We always knew I had problems and would eventually have to try fertitlity drugs if it didnt happen on it own by the time we turned 30..I was diagnosed with PCOS at age 17 when I was seeing a pediatric endocrinologist, I do not have any cysts on my ovaries at all but, I have just about every other symptom of this disease..I am not hugely obese but, I am very overweight, I have high testosterone, very low viatmin d, facial hair (That I REALLY HATE) LOL, and I never got my period on my own without using medications (Provera, Birth Control Etc.) I had an intravaginal ultrasound done a few years ago and they didnt find any cysts and I had no lining build up either, my ovaries are of normal size..Everything came out normal but, I just didnt ovulate or get my period at all until recently..After that ultrasound I stopped all medications and didnt get a period for almost a year which I know is very unhealthy but, I wanted to see how long it would take me to get my period on my very own..Just recently, maybe the past 6 months I have been getting my period on my own with no meds at all..Im not sure if its because I am getting older and my body is starting to change a bit or if its cause I stopped all the meds I was on all these years..After a full year, It started comming every 3 months but, last month and the month before that my cycle was 35 days!! I am starting to get excited, My breasts have been so tender and they hurt so much before I get my period so I think I am actually ovulating on my own too..My husband and I really want to start a family so I am trying to figure out what dates I am ovulating..I bought ovulations test strips and I also started an ovulation tracker calendar..Its so hard to figure out the ovulation day when my cycle days have been so different each time I get it, the last two months have been 35 day cycles so I am starting to get a little hope..
Has anyone else been threw this? Just all of a sudden started getting your period after many years of never getting it?? I am just wondering whats going on with my body, My periods are regular flow too, I do get cramps but, I always have..I really want to ttc while I am going threw this stage of life when my period is somewhat normal..I am afraid if I dont try hard now, It will never happen on it own..I started a prenatal vitamin and we are on our way to this new path in life..I really hope we get our miracle baby soon :o)

Just wanted to say welcome.. I to have been TTC and long time 4 years with my ex and going on a year with my DH. I had juevenile rhumatoid arthirits too, and kindey issues... I'm for the most part healthy now.

It sounds like you have a right outlook and are on the right path. Good luck and lots of baby dust
