Default TTC on Soy

There is a TTC on Clomid thread, but I didn't see one for Soy. Who is out there TTC with Soy and how's it going? I tried it last cycle and it was SUCCESSFUL! Anyone else? Post your stories, charts, etc!

Here's the link for the people using soy for fertility purposes

For those of us using Soy

I am not TTC, but I believe that soy has now interrupted my menstrual cycle severly so I won't be eating soy anymore because it seems like it makes things worse for me. Strange how we all react so differently to things. Good luck with the soy and TTC, it seems like it's working for you so I hope you are successful all the way!!!!

I just bought soy yesterday. I've been taking Vitex for 7 weeks. I just stopped taking bcp 4 weeks ago, and am waiting to see if af comes--which on a perfect 28 day cycle would be today. I just got re-married in june 2005. With my previous marriage, i never had af without inducing with provera and I tried 6 rounds of clomid and my eggies didn't even budge. So, I'm hoping Vitex will work to bring on af and I can start the soy. I'd love to keep in touch with others who are trying this too! There is a thread of ppl using soy on the ttc board but it's been going on for months and has hundreds of posts. So, a new fresh thread in alt remedies is great!

Shell have you looked into false unicorn root? I have heard many good things about it and I am going to go get some this Friday along with some soy.

I've her of the false unicorn root and that it could help--but haven't researched it. What's it suppose to help with? I am not overwieght, and don't have the insulin resistance, and don't have high testosterone or any of the side effects that come with it. My only symptome is 35-40 cysts on each ovary and don't ovulate at all. Sometimes I wish I did have the other symptoms so that I could treat those and be able to get pregnant!!

You can definately try something that helps with your insulin response, even if you aren't IR or diabetic. I know that for me, I was up to 250mg of Clomid (soooo dangerous) and my follies did NOTHING. Then when we added Actos I started growing good follies on only 100mg, and got pg on 150mg. I think that makes a difference. I was only 10lbs overweight when I got pg the first time. I am starting out about 30lbs overweight this time, but trying REALLY hard to lose it. I got back to pre-pregnancy weight at 9 months, but once I stopped BF and then started BCP's and Metformin, I gained 20lbs! Ugh! Stopped all the meds and haven't really lost anything. Just 6lbs.

Adding Inositol or NAC (even better) is a good idea for PCOS. Have you read The Infertility Cure? She recommends 1-3g of NAC per day for PCOS.

ejcelli- Fish oil will help with insulin resistance

As for false unicorn root here are some links, it is supposed to help with all around reproductive issues.

http://www.wholehealthmd.com/refshel...,10075,00.html
http://www.botanical.com/botanical/mgmh/u/unifal01.html
http://www.nutrasanus.com/false-unicorn.html

That is just a few websites, there are several more. The thing that I like the most about it is its safe to take through at least your first trimester and it has been shown to help reduce the chances of a miscarriage. Hope that helps some.

Just an update. I'm stilllllll waiting to take soy. Have been on Vitex for 2 months and off bcp for 31 days now. I was really hoping to get af on my own so that I could start the soy. I know it takes Vitex 3-6 months usually to work and sometimes it doesn't work, but was SO hopeing for a 28 day cycle--and here I am day 31 with nothing. I had some Pre-cramp like feelings for three days--not really cramps but that warm kind of achy feeling in my uterus area. But, that's gone now and all I feel is CRANKY! LOL! I was so moody that I swore it was PMS, but I guess I was just in a b*tchy mood!

Shell- sorry to hear that. Yes, Vitex CAN take a while. It may or may not work. The one thing I did was stopped the Vitex, got a script for progesterone and induced AF so I could try to regulate my cycles from the start. I haven't taken progesterone yet (only on 2nd cycle) and I have a 27 day cycle. I am waiting to O. Not sure if it will happen on day 14 like last time. Only time will tell.
