Question TTC w. Metformin

Hi everyone

I'm wondering if you all would share your stories about TTC on Metformin - how long you took it before getting pregnant and did you stay on it while pregnant?

My DR told me if I got PG I would immediately stop taking the Metformin but other posts I've read have had women take it all through the pgncy or stop midway....

Appreciate it!

We tried to get pregnant with just Met. alone for six months. It did regulate my cycles, but I don't think that I ever ovulated. When we combined Clomid I got pregnant. It had worked both times, but unfortunatley both ended in miscarriages. My RE said that next time I get pregnant I will continue the Met. The other times that made me stop taking it with a positive pregnancy test. We will see the next time I get pregnant if the Met. was what I needed. Good luck!

I'm a thin cyster...and think I'm probably borderline PCO.

I was put on Met because Diabetes runs in my family.

I started out on 500mg per day...and never uped my dosage because of the nasty s/e.

I was pregnant in my first cycle, and taken off Met as soon as my beta came back positive.

We had a healthy baby girl in Dec/01.

We are currently TTC#2...and running into the same problems all over again!
