Unhappy Tummy troubles

I have had horrible nausea/heartburn and diarrhea since starting on the Met. Right now my stomach hurts so bad I haven't eaten anything today (or taken my meds -- which I know is bad). The low-carb diet seems to be exacerbating the problem. I have IBS, so in the past, if my stomach bothered me, I stuck to a bland diet of ramen noodles, mashed potatoes, oatmeal, that sort of thing -- which I'm not supposed to be eating now.

Are the stomach problems normal for Met? Do they go away eventually? Or do I need to go back to my midwife?
