I was diagnosed with PCOS a few years back. Turned out my case isn't PCOS since don't have a high LH to FSH ratio, my insulin is normal. Even my prolactin.
My dr told me that my ovaries just didn't mature, even if i was regular when i started having my period.
Some people are just like that. My case has somthing to do with the hypothalamus gland. And i'm in an annovulatory?
Anyone same as me? I have low estrogen and amennorhea and advised me to take calcium supplement.
She told me to take clomid to see if anything will happen to my ovaries. Some patients return back to normal and some wouldn't. If i woulnd't return back to normal. The option would be taking esterogen/progesterone drug until i want to get pregnant and she'll have to inject me (somthign to stimulate my hormones)
Now, i'm confused whether if i have PCOS or not...and i don't know what meds i should take?
I'm sorry fawn. This must be really difficult. I don't have any answers to your questions, but I think when there is a drastic change in diagnosis like this (and even when there is not) that it is always a good idea to get a second opinion, not that I wish PCOS on you.
((( Hugs ))) I hope they get you the proper treatment no matter what condition you are aflicted with.
A co-worker of mine is annovulatory. They tell her it isnt PCOS. She believes other wise. But there are some woman who dont ovulate.
I would definately try to push the subject with your dr to find out why it is that you dont.

I'm annovulatory bec my ovaries (?) didn't "mature" (even if i had regular periods before), some people are like that accdg to her.
Do you think she's not interested in my case at all?
She did told me to take clomid and we'll have an ultrasound the next meeting to see if there'll be "actions" happening in my organ
TracyW2 what happned to your friend who's annovulatory? Did she find out the reason?
Back when I was ttc DD, I was told that, based on my charting, I was anovulatory. Essentially, during the year and a half we were ttc, I ovulated twice - and one of those times I got pregnant with DD. No tests were run - we were scheduled to see a specialist, but found out we were pregnant shortly before the app't. But I can honestly say that I don't believe I do O, because off the pill, my cycles are very irregular and there are never any physical signs of it. I was never given a reason for the lack of ovulation, but then I never went through all the tests. Once we conceived, it seemed a non-issue.
I have been told I don't have PCOS, but have some related issues - borderline hbp, excess hair where it shouldn't be, IR, poochy tummy that won't go away, irregular cycles. . .

How should PCOS be diagnosed?
PCOS should be diagnosed based on physical exam, ultrasound of the ovaries, and the results of various blood tests. Diagnosis is made based on having several of the symptoms listed above. There is some disagreement in the medical community about the diagnostic criteria to be used. Some doctors suggest that at least three of the symptoms must be present to diagnose PCOS, others may make the diagnosis on the basis of fewer criteria (often emphasizing lack of ovulation), while others believe that PCOS is a diagnosis of exclusion — meaning if there are hormonal abnormalities for which no other explanation can be found, PCOS is presumed. Since there is no consensus as to how PCOS is defined or diagnosed, there should be little surprise when a variety of opinions emerge on how this problem should be treated!
I say get a 2nd and maybe even a 3rd opinion. I'm not wishing PCOS on you either, but I'd sure hate for you to be misdiagnosed...

i know i have to loook for a new doctor, i hate this one. i have a feeling that she treats my case as "unimportant" as other patients since i'm not TTC
I'd definitely try to find a doc who is interested in helping you, whether you are ttc or not. Have you checked out the PCOS Friendly Doctors section of SC? There are loads of doctors listed, and perhaps you can one in your area! Best wishes.

Oh... I don't know where you're from, but I know non-US doctors are posted from time to time in there... Perhaps search that forum?
