Two questions about my acu: pain and herbs 1. Regardless of what the therapist says, I'm still not thrilled with the idea of taking herbs. My RE agrees: skip 'em. Theacupuncturist said that he won't push them on me, but warned me that my chances of getting pregnant are "so much lower" without them and that he thinks I'm making a "big mistake" by not taking them. Seriously NOT what I wanted to hear him say. I don't like the pressure... am I being silly?
2. I've only had two sessions, but I have to be honest - my acu HURTS! I'm NOT a needle-phobe at all. I really don't mind shots, blood draws, etc. But these are really bugging me -- oddly, though, it's only on one side (or the other -- it's not the same side each time), that's painful. He said that can be normal because "one of our sides" is some times more sensitive. Everyone else I talk to who's done acu said it didn't hurt them at all. Is my therapist just a "bad" acupuncturist? He's Chinese (from China), was a surgeon over there and has been practicing acu for 20 years. What gives?
