Nobody has ever told me it wasn't okay, and I've taken it many times without a problem. HTH.

I asked the same question not too long ago. Nobody (dr or pharm) told me not to. I've taken Tylenol PM with it a few times and it was ok. I saw a post yesterday that someone said to take ibuprofin or aspirin instead of Tylenol, but not sure why.

I've taken Tylenol with Met, and not had any problems. I can't take much else for headaches since we are ttc.

I read that somewhere it said to try to take something other than tylenol when using Metformin...can't quite remember exactly. I have taken it while on met and it hasn't seemed to hurt me...or not that I can notice anyway. I think it may have to do with putting extra stresses on you liver. Like you can't take Metformin if you have a low functioning liver because it can be hard on your liver and I think that tylenol has something in it that if you take too much it can damage your liver. (Completely winging it here though).
Maybe someone else will have a real answer.......maybe not.....

Tylonol can be rough on the liver, especially if taken in high doses for long periods of time. DH has high liver enzye levels and his doc told him to avoid all meds with tylonol or a similar drug in them. So, if you are taking Met (which possibly can affect your liver, that's why docs test our liver enzyes regularly) using tylonol at a high dose might cause a problem, but doesn't necesssarily mean it will. IOW we use Ibuprofin at our house. There is a Tylonol commerical out saying, "Take tylonol correctly, or don't take it at all." The liver problems are probably the main concern and reason for the commercial.
My Dad was on very high round the cliock doses of a tylnol like drug for an extended period of time and the nurses were VERY careful not to allow him to OD on it. His liver did fine, and he never had a problem. The doc explained that tylonol goes through the liver slowly and can build up, and if you take a high dose, followed by another high dose close together it can be toxic. Tylonol, when taken correctly is not a problem.
