Unhappy Ugh! Any suggestions?

Help!

I have the dreaded 'chin beard'! Is there anything I can do besides shave it every other day?

It's starting to get a pain in the arse and I'm at my wits end, ready to pull my hair out!

Anyone else have excessive hair in the most embarrasing or annoying places?

For myself, chin, sideburns, chest and belly. It really bothers me, I don't want to have to stand in front of a mirror for the rest of my life shaving it all off!

Hey Corrie - Ann

First of all you should stop shaving!! It just makes it look worse
I used to get my facial hair bleached but now it's too stubborn and my skin is too sensitive to it so I'm waxing at the moment but I'm booked in for laser hair removal, it should take about 8 - 10 visits but the results are supposed to be permanent

I've basically just ignored the rest (I am chest and stomach too) but I think once I've dealt with the face I can attack the rest!

Hang in there sista

Caroline

I know I should stop shaving and I would love to, but right now it's the cheapest alternative, I get a massive beard if I leave it be, and I work in a proffesional offoce building, so that would be just alittle too much to handle.

I would try waxing if it didn't hurt that much, thou I know my mom uses that nad's waxing stuff on her chin, she says it works good.

Laser treament? Permanent? What is it exactly?

The laser treatment is when they use what looks like a pen (only a bit bigger) and "laser" your hair it destoys the root system and so ends up being permanent. Your hair has 3 growth stages which is why it can take a few visits and of course with us having PCOS it can take 2-3 times that!! Also because I have dark skin (half Samoan) I can't use the normal laser and have to have one that takes longer (there goes the holiday.... )
Waxing doesn't hurt too much if you do it properly and it will last longer than shaving and it won't be as noticeable when it grows back (do I sound like a mum or what?!!)
Anyway hun, hang in there - laser hair removal is not cheap, but if it works.... it's worth it!!

Luv,

Caroline

Thanks Caroline!

I really like the sound of this laser treament, but alas, I have not the money at this time, and I don't like waxing, so maybe I should go in to get it down anyways ... *sighs*

I shave my chin everyday. It gets so bad, that I have 5 o'clock shadow sometimes.

Default I feel your pain

If I ever hit the lotter, I am going to try the laser on my chest. My chest, belly, and neck hair is what bothers me the most.

Default epilating?

I used to tweeze but it was taking too much time and trouble and bought an epilator. It is a mechanical tweezer, a little fast rotating disc that pulls out many hairs at a time. This has saved me a lot of time and effort.
The only minuses are that the first times will hurt cause you are pulling out several hairs at a time and can make you red for a few hours (so do it at night) but mine came with a smoothing creme that helped with that . Now i just feel the pull but not any pain.
The other minus is that you have to let the hair grow out to at least an eight of an inch( like when you tweeze) so it can actually find something to grab onto. It's not perfect because it can leave some stray hairs behind, which i just pluck out, but it sure saves time, and the effects last much longer than shaving (you're pulling out the roots) without a shadow. I use it on my sideburns, mustache (ouchee) chin, neck.
