Ughhh. Massive Nausea on Ortho Tri LO. Any similar experiences?
I never want to eat again. My stomach is disagreeing with the first couple days of OTC Lo.--anyone know, does this go away? I want to puke at every meal and then have to force myself to eat.
On the bright side, I may hit a lower number on the scale (which is not really a priority, or necessary, but a perk)
I am considering switching to the monophasic version of Ortho-Cyclen. Has anyone been on this and experienced weird side effects? I go to my doctor next week and want to know what to ask for.
Thanks, this place has been a blessing- I don't know any where else I would find such valuable info.
I was taking Allesse for a while and for the first week or so I would barf an hour after I took the pill. Just sudden random projectile vomiting - and then I'd be fine.
As for ortho-cyclen personally I found it to be the only pill I ever took that didn't disagree with me in some way. Mood was great, skin was great, weight was great.

I think what we all have to learn about birth control pills is that certain bcp's work better for some than for others. I think you have to go through a couple different ones to find the right one for you - i have definitely gone through my fair share of bcp's and am currently on tricyclen lo as well but i'm not entirely pleased with it. I would ask your doctor to maybe try you on alesse or marvelon. When i used marvelon - it seemed to work really well for me. You just have to find the right fit for you.
I would definitely recommend you switch to a monophasic pill. There is evidence to suggest it is better for PCOS to have stable hormones throughout the cycle, rather than rising and falling. I can't remember where I read it, sorry.
I would recommend taking the pill at night, with tea and a cracker or something light. On an empty stomach can make nausea worse.
I had a friend on this pill (ortho-cyclen) and she didn't seem to get nausea after the first 3 months, which is normal for any pill.
I tried this is exact pill for one month and the side effects were horrible. Nausea, pain, fatigue. I have been on two different kinds of BCP now and I am really not happy with any of them.
