UK Campaign to get Laser/IPL Treatment on NHS for PCOS!

Hi everyone

(Apologies to non-UK Cysters, but this applies to UK only!)

As I am sure many of you are very well aware, excess hair (Hirsutism) can have a huge affect on a woman's self esteem and this is a very sensitive issue that often gets dismissed or handled insensitively.

I am one of a group of British women with PCOS who are trying to campaign to get laser/IPL treatment offered on the NHS (British National Health Service) countrywide (at present this treatment is only offered in a handful of areas in the UK). If anyone is interested in supporting this campaign, please visit the PCOS Equality campaign website www.pcos-equality.org.uk and follow the link to the petition.

just to let you know that i have been on and put me my daughters and my partner on there. I am all for this believe me i shave more times than my partner !!!!!!!!!!!

It is taking us a while to get signatures but the campaign is progressing slowly.

So many women have facial hair due to PCOS but it seems like some are reluctant to support the campaign. I guess they are worried about the embarassment of signing. I don't know!

I am supposed to be in New Woman magazine in a month or two and I have not had a photo shoot yet but am hoping they will photograph me as I am rather than made up excessively. It won't be easy but at least people will see what PCOS really looks like. Maybe then they will stop all the "didn't Posh Spice have it etc etc!!
