UK Cysters interested in Off Topic, buddy threads...
Unfortunately, the first page of the UK section has become more 'off topic' than PCOS and health related.
I'm happy you've made friends and are interested in staying in touch, however, the purpose of this board is to help women in your region with pcos and pcos related information.
An off-topic thread here and there is fine, but at this point there are too many o/t threads.
Most importantly, too many threads from women with questions about pcos are getting pushed to page 2 and beyond.
I've looked at the other 'peer group' forums and they are primarly ON topic.
Please either:
- post off topic threads in GETTING TO KNOW YOU
- establish another board for off topic conversations and put a link to the board in your sig
I welcome any courteous responses and suggestions for moving forward.
Thanks.

Note: There's no need to preface every thread with "UK CYSTERS" in this forum.
This forum is for PCOS topics that are UK "REGION" specific. It's not a forum where other members might get the impression that only UK Cysters can respond to threads.
This section should not become a 'general pcos board' for the uk cysters. If that's what some members are intersted, please start an outside board, and put a link in your sig.
For PCOS topics (like Diet or ttc or alternative remedies, etc) please use the existing forums for that purpose so that the SC membership at large can participate in the conversation.
The occasional o/t-but uk specific-post is fine here, however, this forum is primarily for topics like:
- can anyone recommend a fertility clinic near [enter a uk city]
- health system topics
- clinical trials being held in the uk
In other words, things that can probably only be answered by cysters living in the U.S.
The only time a UK Cysters preface needs to be added to a thread is if a member is interested in starting a 'buddy' thread in a forum like TTC Buddies or Diet & Exercise Buddies. I'm sure there's an exception, but those are the best examples I can think of, right now.

Thank you to those cysters who recognize that there is an ASK KAT forum for posting questions directed to me.
This particular thread has been up since MARCH of this year, so the issue of "where to post" off topic threads is not a new one.
New members coming here looking for information on BCP's will look in the BCP forum, and the same is true for other specific issues related to pcos that already have a forum.
UK issues that DON'T have a forum, and can only be answered by UK cysters should be posted in this forum. Buddy threads belong in Buddy forums so they don't crowd the search function, and make things hard for people looking for posts with information beyond 'marking my spot'.
SC members from other parts of the globe have no on-going issues or problems with this.
Thank you for understanding a rule that will not change for 5 or 6 members who wish to do things differently.
Any new threads on this issue will be deleted without comment, along with the accounts of members who continue to post them.
