Wow Ladies, these success stories are amazing. I'm very happy for you all... I hope that my story takes a positive turn like yours!
Good luck to all TTC.
**BABY DUST**
I have had the help of many good dr's over the years, when I lived in North London I was under the North Middlesex Hospital and was looked after by Mr Okolo who was great and now I live in Kent, at the Medway Dr Gough (Endocrinologist) is just wonderful, he understands exactly where I am coming from. The fertility specialist Dr Houghton, is OK but tends to blame everything on weight which really annoys me...perhaps he should read this site from time to time lol...
Wow, these success stories are wonderful... makes me hopeful that someday I can have kids too. My major concern after being told that I might have PCOS from my dermatologist was that it could lead to infertility... but after reading you stories, I feel like I might just have a chance.
I'm new to this site but wanted you to know that Clomid worked for me. I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2000 - but always had the symptoms. I was prescribed clomid and on round three I conceived twins. I carried successfully until 35 weeks when I gave birth to a beautiful boy and girl. Clomid really works! Good luck to anyone ttc. xx
hi my name is linzie im 22 and was told i had pcos when i was about 13/14 im ttc i would like to hear from people in kent going through this hell lol im from the medway towns in kent. linz x
Hi, Im new to this site, so want to share my story Me and my partner had been ttc about 5years. I was diognosed with pcos in 2006 after years of complaining to several gps about my very heavy and irregular periods and terrible boils that broke out wherever possible. They checked my hormone levels and I was then refered to an endocrinologist, great, but seemed a life time to get an appointment, he told me it is very unlikely that I would ever conceive and that I really should try to loose weight if ever I wanted that very little chance but the more I tried to lose weight the less I lost. I came away that day with such disappointment and anger as my dream was always to become a mother and fufil my partners dreams of becoming a dad. With so long to wait till my next appointment with a specialist I found myself complaining to the gp AGAIN, but this time with some luck, I was prescribed with metformin 1500 a day! After what the specialist told me I didnt think that the metformin would help me in any way, and did my best to get over the fact that I would never mother my own children.
With this hanging over me I never realised the symptoms of being pregnant and carried on my life as normal, fighting my disapointment every day.
Then one morning after a long night shift I had a very tramatic mc (12wks) then later a dc. And just 20days after my dc we conceive again, now we are 9weeks pregnant ! Good luck to you all ttc, there is every hope for you all. xxx

Awwww Congrats, Monkfish xx

originally started seeing gyny in 2005 had a scan(internal + external) told me there was nothing wrong with me just having irregular periods and that i should lose weight( i was 17 stone at the time), went to gp in may 07 as i'd put on more weight and still having irregular periods, got a gyny appt in july 07, i was scanned external and was found to have pcos, by this time my weight went upto 21 1/2 stone at my biggest, i was sent to dietican which didnt seem to help, went back to gyny sept 08, was weighed at 19 stone, which i thought ive done pretty well to lose it, gyny told me he didnt want to see me until i got down to 13 stone when i could go on ivf, wasnt happy stormed out of the office. Was put on metformin 1500mg on 05/01/09 so hopefully ill get somewere. -------------------------------------------------------------------- and congrats to purple_monkfish

hi girls, thought i would pop in to meet some local girls, everyone on my board is american!!!
i have always had PCOS, never had regular periods at all since they started at about 14 - i went on BCP at 16yrs cause i couldnt face not knowing when my next period would come and was always scared i would leak! i didnt worry about PCOS, my blood hormone levels were checked every so often but didnt need to do anything about them other than stay on BCP.
After spliting with a long-term boyfriend at age 20yrs i stopped BCP and didnt have period for 2.5 yrs so went back on BCP again to feel more "normal".
In 2003 i met my now husband and waarned him that my periods had disappeared and i may never be able to give him children - he was fine with that and we decided that when we were ready for kids, if we didnt conceive we would adopt - no worries.
so in 2006 i came off BCP to try and see what would happen but attended gynae privately to see what they would say - she did internal scan and confirmed PCOS and put me on metformin to help me lose weight and see what my cycles would do. that was in May, at end of August i got BFP and Sam was born May 2007.
since he was born my cycles came every month, sometimes skipping one month but rarely. we were trying but not using any meds and got another BFP 5th Jan 2009 - i am now 10weeks and everything is going very well. the only problem is sharing a mummy thread with girls from USA who get such early USS, i really want to see my baby and hear heartbeat, but alas, first appt isnt until 19th march!!! (good old NHS!)
nice to meet you all
love and hugs, saz xxxx
