Family situation Single and living alone with only my cat for company
PCOS symptoms I'm obese, getting more acne these days than I've ever had in my life, constant, sometimes heavy, periods since Aug last year, excess hair on my chin, chest, back and stomach, mood swings, headaches. Not sure about cysts yet. Got my scan on Friday
Worst thing about PCOS The constant periods! It's getting me down and most of the times keeps me from going out much. The excess hair is getting very annoying also.
Medication None yet. Wont know till after Friday
NHS or Private NHS. It's taken months for them to get their asses in gear. I've had to nag very week or two since October last year. They kept me waiting over the whole of christmas and new year for blood results. Didnt enjoy myself during that holiday.
Action taken against PCOS I'm still trying to get my head around things and reading up on helpful tips and suggestions
PM or Email? I'm happy with PM's or emails. Whatever is easier for others
Any other information I've been going through depression since 2000 after my Dad died of cancer. Which lead me to self harm myself. I've been clean of that for 3 years but I'm worried about being on the verge of going back to that because of the PCOS and the fact I blame myself. Very tough time indeed.
Family situation: The most complecated you could think of...but single
PCOS symptoms: Erm...no periods to speak of without help, had nasty acne up until a few years ago, but it's scarred my face...lovely...and overweight, but then I am lazy too
Worst thing about PCOS: Pretty much everything!
Medication: Used to be on Dianette, but stopped that, then put on Yasmin. I got my periods, but that's pretty much it
NHS or Private: NHS
Action taken against PCOS: I've only been put on pills for the moment, but I'm going back to the Doctor soon to see if they can do anything else
PM or Email? Either, I'm not fussed
Any other information: Mild depression, but that comes and goes

Family situation: Have a wonderful boyfriend who has a beautiful daughter. We are hoping to get married and try for children after we both finish university and can afford to do so!
PCOS symptoms Acne, irregular and non-existant periods (now regular when taking dianette), pain in overies (possible cysts but going for scan in 2 months), excess hair.
Worst thing about PCOS: The pain in my overies and the possibility that I will never become a mum.

NHS or Private NHS - i had complained about not having periods for maybe 5 or more years and only when I went to uni and changed doctors did they finally listen to me and diagnose me.
Action taken against PCOS: Im trying a low GI diet but finding it quite tough as I do like to have sweets, avoiding alcohol, trying to exercise more. I need to try and stay calm and not get stressed which is very difficult. Trying to get my friends to understand that when im in too much pain that I cant go out at night - they dont believe that there is anything wrong with me.
Anything else? Dont think so just that I am looking forward to getting to know you all.
