Hi- i'm kinda of new here, was diagnosed in July 08 but have sort of ignored the consequences until now (bad i know)

PCOS symptoms have irregular periods but i'm on the mini pill so not sure if that's the reason for it. have excess hair and am trying to loose weight- regular weight watchers attendee!
Worst thing about PCOS initially not knowing the outcomes, and the possibility of not being able to have children
Medication used non at the moment.... the doctor only wants to prescribe it when i'm trying to get pregnant
Action taken against weight loss... on WW and doing a 10K run in the summer so training for that.. have lost about half a stone since jan but it's coming off VERY slowly and it's starting to get me down!

Any other information although i'm only 23 and not married, i hate the thought of not being able to have children and so i'm nervous about that
Hiya ladies just thought id pop in thread and see how you all are doing.
Cycle #1 with clomid was a BFFN(Big Fat Flippin Negative), so im back on norethisterone to help a period come on again and then will start clomid cycle #2 between days 3-7 .

Family situation : Married 4.5 years, 1 beautiful daughter age 12months.
PCOS symptoms : Absence of periods usually for 10-12 weeks but up to 20 weeks apart. Very irregular and painful. Hair growth on upper lip (not too noticible as I keep it waxed). Painful ovaries during mid cycle and pain during sex. Overweight despite being active and usually healthy eater (have the odd blow out when Im moody)
Insane mood swings, all sorts of crazy thoughts in my head often cant trust my reactions/emotions expecially during mid cycle or just befor AF. Painful sometimes crippling periods on days 2-4
Worst thing about PCOS: Pain in ovaries during sex, crazy mood swings, painful periods. Medication : Was diagnosed with secondary amenohorrea(sp?) at 16 and put on various pills over 10year period. Was diagnosed in 2007 when I was off pill with 2 years and cycle had lengthened to up to 20 weeks and pain was unbearable. Was given pain meds in short term and refered to Gynae for full examination.
metformin 1500mg a day horrible side effects stayed on for 5 months, fell pregnant and couldnt keep taking metformin as I was constantly sick. Have not gone back on it since. Periods are regular at the moment but other symptoms have returned worse than ever.
NHS or Private private.
Action taken against PCOS Metformin, Lost 1 stone on Metformin before falling pregnant and 2.5st during the pregnancy. Trying to keep it off but its an uphill battle. Put on 5lbs this week without changing diet in any way!!!
Thanks Kentbird. My head is driving me crazy at the moment but i have started to notice a pattern so I just dont "listen" to myself when Im bad. Hate all this feeling sorry for myself business its just not me.... Ah well another few days and it will ease off, hooefully. In the meantime trying to concentrate and focus on my job and she who must be obayed (i.e my baby girl).
Must look into suppliments to help.
Oh Fran your allowed to feel down, we all do, and since you got a wee one you have even more right x i have days where i just lay in bed and cry and then feel like an idiot for doing it!! lol xx chin up lady x
Leanne, good luck this time around, that norethisterone used to make my stomach hurt like hell!! and the clomid makes me soooo moody!! the joys we go through trying to have a baby eh xx

AFM well thats me finished the clomid again.....just waiting now to see if i O! trying to be optimistic but iv had clomid sooooo many times its very hard to be!! Still i had my drilling so you never know it may work x fingers crossed for me!
