Which means that we dont have to pay for health care dr visit etc. Depending on where in uk we live, we may get medicines free. Or pay. But we can use private health care and pay if we want. eva

| Registered User Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: Kent, UK ![]() ![]() ![]() | Name: Karine Age: 28 Family Situation: Been married to Steve since 2005. TTC since March 07 PCOS symptoms: excess facial hair, weight gain, irregular periods Worst thing about PCOS: Having to pluck every day and the possibility that I might never become pregnant Medication:Was on Metformin for 6 months but it wasn't working - only slightly insulin resistant. Now on nothing NHS or private: NHS - not overly impressed so far and consultant asked me to consider going private for fertility treatment as i'm a 'complex' case Action taken against PCOS: Healthy eating (reduced sugar and refined carbs intake) and exercise. Had a couple of 20 min reflexology sessions, which really helped me relax and feel better about myself. |

| Registered User Join Date: Mar 2002 Location: Northern Ireland ![]() | I was diagnosed as PCOS about 10 years ago but told that because I wasn't looking to get pregnant there wasn't anything they could do. After years of being told to lose weight without any advice or help I now have a GP who has put me on Metformin. I'm always busy and terrible at looking after myself. Something has snapped and made me return to SoulCysters to try and make a fresh start.
