Hi everyone!

Name Sarah
Age 24 tomorrow lol
Family situation Live with my boyfriend Chris (25). I am a primary school teacher, Dbf is a doctor.
PCOS symptoms The only symptoms I have are very irregular periods since age 14 (9+ months being my longest cycle) and cysts on both ovaries.
Worst thing about PCOS The fear of infertility
Medication used My GP put me on the pill 3 years ago (I was undiagnosed at the time). I have appointment with another GP next week to discuss treatment options and I'm pretty sure she will want to put me back on the pill.
NHS or Private NHS
Action taken against PCOS Just the pill so far. I came off it earlier this year and would like to try other treatments to see if I can kick start my cycle/ovulation, athough Dbf and I are not TTC yet I would like to know where I stand. I don't really need to lose weight (although I wouldn't complain!) but I'm thinking about starting a low GI diet to see if that helps.
PM or Email? Either
Any other information I am newly diagnosed (Officially, as of today!) but suspected that I have PCOS since I was a teenager...gotta love the internet for research and self diagnosis! I finally got my GP to do a blood test after no periods for 7 months which showed my FSH:LH (or the other way around?! not sure!) ratio was 2:1 and she (finally!) ordered an ultrasound which showed multiple cysts on both ovaries but the left less so than the right. I am so relieved to have answers but can't get past feeling angry/sad that my body apparently can't do one of the things it was designed to do

I would love to find out more about treatment options etc and talk to people who are experiencing the same things as me...nice to meet you all!

PM or Email? I'd love for people to contact me, I was only diagnosed about 6 months ago, but my doctor provided me with no information or medication, and i've been pretty depressed ever since. I'd love to hear some advice. It's getting me very worried at the minute.

Hello all - glad to have found this site!

I'm Jo, 31, live near Leeds with my wonderful boyfriend. I was diagnosed in 1999 and didnt really care too much about it back then. Fast forward 10 years and its all I ever think about!

We've been ttc for a year or so now, we're under the local fertility clinic and I have an appt for a lap & dye on 30.09.09. Boyf's SA was great which is good news.

I suffer with weight gain, bad skin, hairy - but thankfully only on body where I can hide it. Havent had AF yet this year either.

Am looking forward to talking to others who know how I feel about things. All my friends are either pregnant or just had babies which doesn't help.

Hi yorks, and welcome to the site, when im not at uni in london, i live with my parents in huddersfield so not too far from you. And while im only 19 and not ttc yet i know completely how you feel wen it seems like everyone around you is either pregnant or just had babies, it leaves you wondering will it ever be me. Im right with you on the symptoms they are a real pain sometimes, but everyone on this site is really helpful and supportive.

Good luck on your ttc journey,

Lizzie xxx

hiya all, im sara, i was diagnosed 10 years ago but wasnt TTC back then and all i really had was excess hair, read a magazine about hirsutism so asked my GP if i could be tested for PCOS, had ultrasound and bloods done and was diagnosed. GP just put me on BC and that was it. had a follow up scan (cant remember when) because i started getting mid cycle pain and ovaries looked fine and healthy. now im 38 and just started TTC, have regular periods and think (but dont know) i ovulate. only second month in and no meds yet, havent even got a GP atm! ive been trying a low GI diet, im not overweight but want to keep to it because of what ive read. been taking evening primrose and charting temp from this month. early days but this site has been very helpful so far. i just hope i didnt leave it too late to TTC being 38 and having PCOS, its all i think about lol
