Default For UK Mums

Does anyone know of any good UK based pregnancy and parenting websites? I like it here, but something that's not quite so US/Canada based could be nice too. I'm too envious of all the repeat betas, etc.

Also, any advice on where to shop for maternity and baby things? Here in Croydon the choice can be pretty limited, but there must be more around London. Anywhere else good?

London/Surrey and Manchester areas would be easiest for me, but I'm willing to consider other areas. I've never gotten to shop for this stuff before, and since I grew up in the States I'm not totally sure what there is beyond Mothercare, which I don't love. I worked there one Christmas, on the toy floor of Mothercare World and I haven't gooten over the horror.

TIA

Bob

Thank you!!

I wasn't sure whether to post here or in the preggo/mommy boards, but I figured this way I'd avoid the non-UK sites.

I have heard there is alovely site for mum's to be, called blooming marvellous. Thier shop is based in Chester but they are online too, i think the stuff is for the pregnant mum and the baby which is a bit of a nice change.

I have not reached the point where I can visit it yet, hopefully one day but my friends use it and say it is lovely

www.bloomingmarvellous.co.uk

Hope you have a h&h 9 months and many h&h years ahead with your child

There is a Blooming Marvellous shop in Cobham, Surrey which isn't 'too' far from Croydon, if you fancy a day out!
There's also a Daisy and Tom shop in Guildford but you might faint from the prices they charge.
Next do a pretty good Maternity range which goes up to size 20 (I think) and they have lovely baby clothes.
John Lewis sell baby equipment too, you can order online (sorry their address escapes me at the mo but must be johnlewis.co.uk or something )
Have fun buying stuff and have a lovely pregnancy.

Ive bought most of my maternity clothes from Hennes in Croydon - found them great value, stylish and cheap. Also Next for jeans.

I have to admit you really have to drive around to get baby/maternity stuff.

The mothercare in weybridge, surrey is good coz its a big one - just for baby stuff though coz the clothes are urghhh!

Formes in guildford does lovely pregnancy clothes but very expensive.

I went over to Bluewater shopping centre and they have the most baby/maternity clothes shops in one place. In fact I got a gorgeous black dress in mothercare there!

Oh and Top Shop maternity range is quite good.

Also this shop is meant to be quite good but not been there yet www.nippers.co.uk.

HTH xx
