All right, adding this to the shopping list.

I am concerned about the inner bits of my southern area getting burned, and my butt getting ingrowns and other delightful follice issues, but its worth a try.

I tried a Brazilian once and apparently my hair was resistant - so it just pulled, and wouldn't come out. And then the girl thought the wax wasn't hot enough, so she made it hotter, and burned the heck out of me. The pulled hair hurt something awful so I dipilatoried it later...and chemical burned the wax burn. WORST experience ever. So surely this won't be too bad, comparatively.

Hair that is stimulated by very high levels of testosterone can be almost impossible to wax or pluck.

If the outer labia close tightly together burning of the inner labia shouldn't happen. However with many women the labia don't close tightly and for some the clitoris and even the inner labia project through the outer labia, in which case it's better to steer clear of depilatories in that region.

Looks like I'm out of luck. My inners stick out of the outers (TMI, I know), and if I can't depilatory or wax... I'm stuck. Shavings out of the question because I get terrible ingrowns, and I had laser treatments but they only worked on my legs, not my face, pits, or bikini.

Any other solutions? I've asked the dr, but she doesn't seem to think its an issue. However, I tend to get folliculitis anywhere on my body that doesn't see sun regularly (thighs, breasts, butt, etc), and going hairless helps that... but not if I can't get rid of the hair to begin with.

Have you heard of sugaring? Its like waxing except its a sugar based substance, but it works in the same way. The composition of it may mean it sticks to your hair better than the wax did.
I know a lot of people find it less painful as it is meant to stick to the hair and not the skin, so you're not ripping off a layer of skin at the same time.
Some places that do waxing will also do sugaring, but there are do-it-yourself home kits, and wikipedia even has a recipe for the sugar 'wax'. I'm not sure it will work for you but its worth a try right?

I use this pretty often. I use the sensitive skin kind in the silver can. I just put it all over, my skin isn't really sensitive down there but if you only leave it on for 6-7 minutes like the can says you should be okay. I know if I leave it on for too long it's a little uncomfortable but nothing harsh and it goes away by the next day.

I don't actually use a spatula. I find that using a loofah to get it off works better.

Ok ladies I really want to try this but my probelm is that my hair "downunder" kinda grown in too and not just on the outsied. Can I use it for the whole area or do I have to only use in on the outer lips? I think that it would suck to have to do this and then save as well. On the other hand I will get some and do my crack. Boy what I would give to feel normal for about a day.

Has anyone used it on their arms yet? Results?

Thanks a lot

Bumpity!

I went and bought the Magic Powder (Platinum can) today, tested an area (now I have to wait 24 hours), and there was no irritation at all. SAABB!

DH is going to help me with the rest tomorrow. I'm excited.

I'd also like to add that I found my can at Fred Meyers in the shaving aisle, so if you want to add that location to the list, it might help.

Also, I heard that some people do get "the bumps" when it starts to grow back out (downstairs), and then I heard someone say that Dove deodorant is supposed to help in some way? Any one have any clue what I am talking about?

Anyone else have this problem? I used it the first time and it got all my face hairs off. A week later the hair was back, so I did it again and it left all of my blonde hairs. Thats like a 1/3 of my hair. I ended up shaving after 24 hours. I used the gold can. Would a different one help?????

You should be ok asking...the employee will think you're picking it up for DH.

Did you check in the men's hair care section (that's where it will be)

Sally's Beauty Supply might carry it, too.
