I had a positive pregnancy test at 4w 3d. I did not have any betas done. My first appointment was at 7w 4d and my doctor did an ultrasound at this appointment.

All of this varies between doctors, how you are being treated (medication), and if you are considered high risk.

My sister in law was pretty shocked that I was in so "fast" She has two children and with both of them her first appointments weren't until 12 weeks. Then she only had one ultrasound a piece around 20 weeks.

PCOS puts you in a different category (by some doctors) so you will be seen earlier. However, it's not typical and if you get pregnant naturally you might be treated differently.

My doctor will do an ultrasound at about 6 weeks and then one/week until 12 weeks. I have lots of issues though and have had two miscarriages. It's not normal to get that many!

My RE said if I got pregnant I would have 2 betas and then do u/s 4 weeks later and then again 4 weeks later. I'm not even diagnosed with PCOS at this time, either.

It really depends on the Dr. My RE tests me every other day for Beta's and then once my Beta gets over 1200 I go in for my first US. After my first US I do blood work 2 times a week and Ultrasound every other week. I have a history of miscarriages so I don't know how many people even with my Dr. are on the same schedule.

Hi Mae
When I talked to the nurse after my BFP she scheduled me for a 7 week ultra sound, then I also called my regular obgyn and they scheduled me for an 8 week appointment with them and said I would get an ultrasound there too. Since we have the same insurance I am sure that's what will happen with you too.

mae,

When I got BFP with my DD, RE told me to come in for beta right away, then 2 days later. Then we had 6 week u/s at RE's office, then 8 wk appt with ob/gyn. They did tell me to go ahead and make 8 wks appt with ob/gyn when I got my second beta results back.

HTH and I hope you get BFP this cycle!! Keep us posted!

I did three weeks (once a week) of HCG testing, and after they were satisfied that it was doubling, they scheduled me for my first ultrasound 6w5d. I was able to see the heartbeat then. I have another appointment coming up at 8w5d, and I believe I'll be getting ultrasounds every 2 weeks while I'm still with my RE. I get referred out to a OB/Gyn at 12 weeks.
I'm not sure why she does so many ultrasounds, but I do have a pretty large corpus luteum cyst on my left ovary so maybe she's monitoring that.
