Default Ultrasound showed PCOS but hormones normal. What's going on?

I'm new and doc isn't calling me back. Nurse reports that sono showed PCO but my fsh was 6:8 and LH 3:7. Does that mean I have this or not? Thanks in advance!

You could. There are different types of PCOS. Normal hormone test results are common for many of us. Have they tested your insulin, fasting glucose, and cholesterol? These are some that will often show abnormalities.

I sort of in the same boat. At first visit, RE said I had it, when he saw my "string of pearls" but later said it was PCO and probably not PCOS, for the same tests. However, I am high-normal for DHEAS, everything else he said was normal. I can't get anyone to care enough about my health to give me a glucose and/or insulin test. Every doc I've had said they'd order one and they NEVER do.

Like the other ladies have said, pcos causes different symptoms in everyone. Has your dr done lab work as well? I would definately keep trying to contact your dr to get a more thorough explanation.

The others are right...you need more hormone levels besides just fsh and lh. I think there's a list in the newbie section. You want thinks like insulin, glucose, testosterone, estrogen, dheas, corisol, adrenals....
