Points: 2,862.07 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 2,862.07 | Ultrasound Tech Was Rough- Is baby Okay??? Okay I have tried not to be a worry-wart about everything, but then I decided- screw it! I am going to worry about this kid until the day I die I might as well get used to it!
I am 19wks 3 days pregnant and I had an ultrasound two days ago and the technician pressed REALLY hard the entire time. I think it was a combination of me having lots of extra "layers" to see through and the tech being about the size of a football player but it HURT. My abdomen was sore the rest of the day. Well we found out we are having a boy and he is healthy and all that, but the flutters I have been feeling in my belly the past couple of weeks whenever I lie down seem to have gone away. I THOUGHT I felt one kick when we were out and about but usually it's more like a series of flutters and kicks around bedtime. Am I worrying for nothing or should I be concerned??? Could he have hurt more than just ME????

My u/s tech was awful To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. Don't get me wrong, I loved seeing the baby, loved finding out we're having a healthy little boy..but OMG!
It didn't help that the tech was chomping/popping a piece of gum the whole time, or barely said two words to us after telling us it was a boy. The doc who we met with afterward that went over all the measurements was awesome, and I had my first trimester screen with another tech at the same practice and she was awesome too..so I just got unlucky and got someone miserable.
Anyway....I had tears running down my face during the u/s. I was squeezing DH's hand so hard..he thought I was just excited..I told him later and he felt so bad for not knowing how bad I was hurting.
I haven't felt our LO yet, but we rent a doppler and I have heard the baby since the u/s so I am sure everything is fine..but O To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. I am sure our LOs are doing great and are just fine, but it does suck that it hurt so much doesn't it??

Thanks for replying. I am glad to know that even though your ultrasound was also painful your little one is doing well! That gives me comfort. I just hope I notice him move soon, he is probably waiting till I am asleep just to freak me out! To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. I get released into my OB's care before that but my RE's office still offers me the u/s which is great because I find the ones done by random techs, they just dont care (ie the girl popping gum) ...

Susan: No fair! My specialist said they couldn't see me after 8 weeks and once I was switched to my OB they would not see me because they said they would become legally responsible to deliver my baby (which they don't do) if my OB dropped me for any reason.

I also made not to the NP and my DR of how I felt.. My doctor noted it and he didn't want me to feel unhappy. He would work with his team.
I would tell your doctor

When I was at an office with my last pregnancy, I saw one doc whom I DID not like. I made sure to tell the scheduler and I never had to see her again.
