Hey everyone, went in for my first ob visit today. My calculations put me at 5 weeks and 5/6 days. Ultrasound showed a gestational sac and yolk sac. The could not see a fetal pole. The sac was measuring at 5 weeks 0 days. They said it was early and nothing to worry about- they want to rescan in 10 days. Does this sound okay to you guys. I am so nervous. HCG level is doing well, today's level was 13,511. Thanks for any replys!

They did an u/s for me at 5wk5d (at least thats what I was measuring) and we could see the gestational and yolk sak and a little bit of the baby and a nice little flicker. Things can change so drastically in such a short period of time. I went and did one this week too and we saw the hb, measured and clearly saw the bean. Now I'm measuring 6wk3d so I get another u/s next week. I wouldn't be too concerned!

I had a transvaginal US and measured at 5 weeks 4 days and did not see a fetal pole either. Dr warned me beforehand that it may be the case. They did see the yolk sac and gestational sac though. I went back at 8 weeks 2 days and saw little one and even got to see his/her heart beating away. Couldnt hear it but dr said it was normal not to be able to hear it. He saw it pumping away so all was well To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
I would try not to worry too much about it. Its pretty normal not to see it that early.

thanks for the reassurance! They did a vaginal ultrasound, and I am quite fluffy. I was also wondering if being overweight affects a vaginal ultrasound the same way as it does an abdominal? I know the belly fat can make things unclear. Thanks!
