I was never diagnosed with PCOS event hough after a couple of years of badgering my doctor I went to an endo. I was dealing with weight issues, hair loss, depression, irregular periods, migraines, food cravings, etc.
I had no cysts on my ovaries and no hypoglycemia (although when I went back for my test I felt like I had low blood sugar. I think I get dizzy around the low end of normal and it's not recognized. Low 70's and I'm having symptoms of low blood sugar).
My hormones were however off. I didn't get an apology for seeing four different doctors and having them flat out tell me I didn't have PCOS and it was my fault that I was fat, just lose the weight.
He put me on the pill and told me that the nausea side effects might help me lose weight.
I gave up after a few months, the pill did not help one bit. More migraines, etc.
So now, more than a year later I'm having sharp pains with my periods and told my general practitioner. I'm having an ultrasound tomorrow.
I'm also on Effexor and was just started on lithium because I can't seem to get out of this depression. I go up and I go down and it's so awful.
I want a real diagnosis and I want real help. I'm joining here and I'm going to be pushy to get this taken care of. I'm so tired of not being able to control my cravings around my period. I'm tired of the awful headaches. I'm tired of being tired so much and not having the energy to do more than make it through my work week.
I had the ultrasound this morning and the weird thing is, she spent a lot of time in places where I didn't have pain during my period. She mostly stayed to the middle and the right.
It hurt too, the pressure she was putting on my pelvis made my low back hurt and my whole pelvic area. She took so many damn images and of course she can't say anything, so it's freaking me out of course. I don't remember an ultrasound being so uncomfortable before.
Any ideas? I have to wait 3 to 5 business days to hear back.

Thanks.
Why the wait? And the silence? Whenever I have a u/s, the u/s tech always tells me what's going on, what she's doing, helps me read the images on the screen, etc. and then I speak with my doctor a few minutes later.
Maybe it varies by hospital but that just seems strange.
What kind of u/s did you have, regular or transvaginal? The regular ones generally cause me a decent amount of pain.

I had a regular ultrasound. It was pain that wasn't direct. It was really weird and it was uncomfortable, but she was just doing her job. It traveled through my back and it was weird.
The tech can't talk about the results and can't tell me anything they see, it's a Kaiser thing, I guess. SO I have to wait. There is not doctor there.
I hope u get some answers soon! I am also so sorry u r enduring these yucky symptoms! Good luck!!!
