Hi- I'm 19 and i just received news from my doctor that there are follicles on one of my ovaries----> she thinks i may have PCOS----> what other tests should I take to confirm it? I am not overweight nor do i have abnormal hair growth-- are these symptoms that occur later on? Should I be expecting them, or since they haven't occured yet, i'm "in the clear"? It's a very scary thing to think that in 6 months i will gain lots of weight and a beard. . . .

Don't worry, you won't get dx and immediately get heavy and hairy. I would suggest having a blood test, looking at hormones. Then think about diet, exercise, meds, all that good stuff. Good luck!
