I recently had my chlesterol checked for the first time, and the total came back high at 247. My HDL was 57 (they wanted it greater than 40) and my LDL was 161 (they wanted it lower than 160), and my triglycerides were 145 - well within the normal range. The dr has no idea why the total was high. I mean, I can see it being a little above where they want it (200), but why so high?
BTW, they did draw blood to check my thyroid...
Just curious if anyone else has high total cholesterol, even when their other numbers are pretty close to normal.
TIA!!!
