Question Un-Sheduled AF on BCP

While on Ortho I stopped having a period for the last 12-18 mos. The first cycle of Demulen afforded nothing but spotting. Now I'm having AF, but not on the scheduled nonactive pill week. This is full AF, much better than a long time, but I'm having it usually the first or second week of the active pills! My MD doesn't want much more to do with my, wants me to see a OB/GYN, but I want to go armed with as much info as possible so I want to know if anyone else has had a similar experience.

Thanks
Jen

PS: I'm gonna post this in the "Do You Have this Problem?" board too . . . just to see if anyone there knows what's up.

Jen--I hear you--I've been having the same problem. Not a fun time. In fact, the first time it happened was over the holidays, followed by a vacation in Miami. Four weeks straight--I bled the whole time, and my period had supposedly ended a week prior to Christmas. On Yasmin the whole time!

I finally called my internist, and he had me go through a pelvic and vaginal ultrasound, which was followed by a hystersonogram (different kind of vaginal ultrasound involving an infusion of water into the uterus) and found the culprit---a good sized polyp. But, the bleeding stopped eventually and they wanted to just keep an eye on it, and I was supposed to call if I had another bout. I am now having one, so I guess I'll be calling to see if I need to have it removed.

That's my story---I hope you find out what your situation is.
