Hey Jen,
Of course it's not possible--but I wish you could FIRE your Guatemala contacts, and possibly your agency, too, and bring Joel home another way. They seem to have their own (not yours or Joel's) interest at heart, while telling whomever whatever sounds good at the time. *I'm* frusterated for your and your DH.
If you want to PM me, I'll e-mail you our agency owner's name and e-mail. He's a well respected US attorney, who is very well known to the Guat Embassy and all the Guatemalan adoption authorities. He's helped get more than one child home when another agency/facilitator has dropped the ball on the case or there has been mishandling. While not one to step on toes of the other agency until everything that could have been done is done, he still hates to see famiiles who are apart from a facillitator's errors. And in this case, this guy thinking "maybe, what-if, we'll see", when NOT even telling you he was delaying your POA, and this is causing you to be considered "Post July 1st" and possibly lose your referral? Um, no. Your agency should fight tooth and nail for you over this man's independant decisions.
More prayers your way, |
