I have been using Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow, which is laser/light hair removal on my underarms for about 2 years and maybe more now. It has most definitely improved the growth and texture, but no matter what, it just keeps coming back. And even when it gets to a finer, lighter stage, I still can't shave it because, if I do, I'll get red bumps and irritation everywhere and it will come back dark and rough again. I have extremely sensitive skin, so I bought Nair Sensitive Hair Remover and it didn't work. Hardly any of the hair removal creams actually work. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Use a separate beard trimmer then use a men's-type electric razor for final finishing. Philips electric razors from the men's range are possibly the least irritating.
I don't have any suggestions for permanent hair removal, but if you have to resort to shaving, try using a moisturizing shave gel, I like Gillette. I have the same problem with the red bumps, and I find that the moisturizing shaving gel helps a lot. I also put on a little moisturizing deodorant right when I get out of the shower, and that keeps some of the red bumps away.

I'll have to check out that Philip's electric razor because the electric razor I have still irritates me...not as much as shaving, but it still does.
Make sure it's one from the MENS's range -- they're completely different from what they sell "for women's use." Part of the reason is that the ones they sell for women are designed to cope with longer hair. The "men's" ones are totally useless with anything much more than 1/16" long, which is why I suggested trimming it close to the skin first of all, with a beard trimmer.
If you're in the US, they're sold as Philips Norelco and people are more used to them under the name "Norelco." In the rest of the world people are more used to them under the name "Philishave."
laser is not permanent hair removal, despite the hype. that said, i have very sensitive underarms and the only thing that doesn't leave me with angry welts and burns is good old fashioned waxing once a month. if you find a qualified therapist who knows how to treat sensitive skin it's (almost) tolerable.
the only experiences i've had with sensitive hair removal creams have left me with rather painful and unsightly underarms. quite embarassing, especially when i've got red, flaking skin a month later.
