Default Underarm skin getting very dark

okay, I know that the bulk of us have those lovely dark lines on the back of our necks, and i can live with that because I can't see them and my hair typically covers them.

But lately it seems that the skin in my underarms is getting very dark! I hadn't noticed it until my hubby said something but now I know it's happening and it really bothers me. I am very pale and that makes it really obvious. Also, I wear sleeveless clothes a lot and I am a bit self concious about it now.

Plus, all of a sudden, no deoderant is comfortable because they have all started causing build up! I shower ever freaking say and am very concerned about how I look and smell. Deoderant build up is ugly and gross. But I can't seem to avoid it without skipping the deodorant and ever since the symptoms of this stupid disease or syndrome or whatever you call it showed up I CANNOT skip it without some unpleasant smelling consequences. I know TMI. Sorry.

Anyway, I am open to suggestions.

I think that is a from extra insulin depositing on the skin. Maybe your more IR than usual? Anyway, I find that sometimes my underarms goes kinda nuts (gets dark, itches) and I go and buy Arrid XX gel, anti-bacterial deodorant. It seems to clear things up to a degree. I use that till its finished then I use Dove till that is done, then go back to Secret. Yes, I even have a system for my deodorant! I love the Arrid XX cause it seems to make the skin clear and has no build up. If I were you I would try a clear gel that is for sensitive skin. GL!

thanks I will try that. I know I can't use secret. That's what I've been using lately and it makes my underarms sore and I've decided I must have developed an allergy or that my underarms can't handle something that is strong enough for a man....even if it is made for a woman!

I dunno how it works, it just seems to make it less dark. I think maybe the underarm seems darker cause of build-up and the Arrid doesn't leave any. It is also anti-bacterial and keeps other baddies away. Hey, its worth a try! heeh
