Awww thanks BeetleGirl, that is sooo very sweet of you! {{{HUGS}}} I wish you could do this walk with me! I am trying to find someone who can keep me company during my 5k trek. I am still trying to convince Jay to do it with me!
I have gotten many of my family members ofcourse sponsering me for this Cancer Foundation Fundraiser. But I have to keep bugging them cause some will forget to do it and others are ofcourse waiting until the last possible second. (ei, one of my BILs!).
I started my walking program today to prepare me for the 5k walk on June 16. I walked just over 5K today! woo hoo!
My Mom is so very proud of me when I told that I was doing this. She is an endometrial cancer survivor and has been cancer free for about, 20 or 21 years now. I can't remember exactly. Back then I guess they called it uterine cancer.
Other people affected in my family;
~ My granny (Mom's Mom) is a cervical cancer survivor and has been cancer free for at least 40 years now.
~ My Grandpa (Dad's Dad) is still battling prostate cancer and will be until the day he dies. I will never live long enough to be considered a cancer survivor which is quite sad. He's got very advanced Alhziemers, as well as, needing oxygen especially at night while sleeping.
~ Last but certainly not least is my Dad. He died from Colon cancer. He had been battling it for almost 3 years and was cancer-free for all of about 6 months I believe, until they found out that they hadn't caught it all the first go around.
OK, I gotta get going.
Is there anyone in Edmonton, who would love to join me???
