for the past month i've had some pain. it lasted a few weeks the first time, and then went away for a week. now it's back, and i'm wondering whether it's caused by my periods, or the change of hormones around that time.
i have had really bad joint pains in my fingers, wrists, knees. i have a weird sensation on my back, as though i have an inflamed area mid-back, between my shoulderblades. i'm also very tired right now.
when i'm suffering with this pain, my urine is also kind of dark - not brown, but more yellow than usual.
can anyone help me figure out what this is? i had some blood tests done when i mentioned to my doctor a month ago that i had some pain, for rheumatoid related issues, but it all came back negative.
however, what they did see was a slight elevation of white blood cells (a suggestion of an infection somewhere in the body), and 'sed rate' was elevated (which is normal if you're menstruating at the time of testing).
i'm getting really tired of this pain :| it's constant and doesn't respond to pain killers.

How was your ANA count? Do you have an autoimmune disorder?

Interesting....I have scleroderma (linear morphea is what I've been diagnosed as of now)- and sometimes the ANA is negative & sometimes it's positive (usually depending on the lab it is sent to!). I've dealt w/ it for almost 10 years. My joints on my left leg are very weak and the skin around them, left atrophic (dead). I have rheumatoid throughout my body and feel like I'm constantly in pain. I really feel for you when reading your post. You may want to ask for your blood to be sent to a second lab for another opinion. Sometimes autoimmune is difficult to diagnose.
If you need anything, please feel free to PM me I don't always know a whole lot, but I'm working to learn more
The whole lab thing - With ANA & RH measures could be different....just an idea - I hope you find out what is going on soon

Have you tried going to a Chiropractor? Sounds crazy, but hurting back - painful joints, I went to the Chiro and found that I had bone spurrs on my spine (years of jumping in sports). When I get adjusted, my knee feels better, my headaches go away - just a thought!
