My Mood: Points: 8,402.26 Bank: 68,003.66 Total Points: 76,405.92 | University of Iowa Women's Clinic Just had my first appointment at the U of I and was kind of nervous, but the Dr's, nurses, and U/S techs were great with making me feel comfortable and positive about everything.
The resident I had was Dr. Erin Lehman, and she was great, although apparently they are on a one month rotation, so she most likely wouldn't be there for anyone else unless you're going soon.
The regular Dr was Dr. Davis, and not only was he knowledgeable and kind, he was a hoot on top of it! I can't say that I've ever had a Dr with as much personality as these two had. I really enjoyed my appointment and feel totally at ease about my next one.

Good luck to you!!

Points: 820.09 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 820.09 | Megan, Dr. Davis did my hysterectomy in 2002 and he IS wonderful. All the drs. in the Endocrin Clinic are great (and believe me, I think I've seen everyone one of them at one time or another!). I've been going there for years and have had nothing but good treatment. Hope it works out as well for you, too. Jane (fellow Iowan) |

A friend of mine and her DH had to do a semen analysis there, and he got a BIG kick out of Dr Davis initialing the order paperwork (his initials are W.A.D., lol). They still laugh about his 'sperm test' saying WAD on it

Points: 820.09 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 820.09 | When Dr. Davis was prepping me for surgery, my husband was in the room with me yet. I joked that I should have him do a tummy tuck while he was in there (like probably every other woman on the planet has asked). Dr. Davis' response was a shudder, and his comment that he "once assisted in a tummy tuck not long ago, they're horrible, and he wouldn't let HIS wife have one" and then proceed to tell us in detail how they do them. Both my husband and I were a little surprised but thought it was very funny at the same time, the way he described it. I must say, afterwards I really didn't want one, either! I felt much more relaxed with him after that.
Then, when he came in to visit me the next day, I threw up while he was talking with me (from the anesthesia--awful neon green stuff). I was mortified, but without missing a beat he just handed me the nearest container and said no problem, he never takes that personally when that happens. What a hoot! |
