Default Unsure on switching from Yaz to Loestrin 24 FE

I was diagnosed with PCOS several months ago so I am still pretty new to it. My Dr put me on Yaz to help treat the symptoms. Since I started taking Yaz I have become clinically depressed. My dr wants me to switch to Loestrin 24 FE. I am really worried about taking any birth control because of my reaction to Yaz. Does anyone have any information on Loestrin and depression or anyother side effects that might be triggered to PCOS? or any thoughts in general on the topic...

I was on Loestrin 24 FE and I wasn't depressed at all. I had the same issue with Yaz, and Loestrin was good for my mood, but I had breakthrough bleeding almost every other month (and it wasnt light spotting, it was a 2 month AF). I was switched to Femcon FE after that, which is what I'm on now.

bump
I had the same reaction with Yaz and doc switched me to Loestrin 24 FE. Like awakemysoul, I am curious about Yaz -> Loestrin switches as well. I am mostly afraid of acne :\

Default the switch

So I've been off of Yaz and on Loestrin for several months now and it works fantastically. I feel alot better and I don't have the depression that came along with taking yaz. I did gain a couple of pounds when I switched but that was about it. My acne has also cleared up 100% (unlike when I was on yaz, it only got worse) overall Id say that Loestrin is a MUCH MUCH MUCH better choice. Yaz was the absolute worst thing that ever happened to me.

That's great! Yaz also broke my face out. Ironic, eh? Yaz is supposed to clear acne and Loestrin is supposed to be bad for PCOS'rs. I'm glad it works for you, I'm only on the fourth day so I can't really say much. Yaz was awesome untill the second month. KABOOM!

well I hope it works for you. because yaz just made me crazy. I litterally lost my mind and was diagnosed with clinical depression. 3 days after i stoped I felt 1000000000X better.

Yea, I became your typical hypochondriac on Yaz. I would cry all day because my leg cramp was a blood clot and my headache was an aneurysm. I'm on day 5 so I haven't really had time to see a major difference.
