a week from today, our child would have been one year old.........hard to believe how quickly time does go by and yet how the pain still feels fairly fresh.

April
I am so sorry about your loss. I just found a print out of my ultrasound the other day. I wouls have an 8 yr old right now. Are you still trying to get pregnant? Me and my BF quit trying for now, we were told we could only get pregnant through IVF but we cant afford that right now. So my dreams are on hold. I hope you will be ok.
time seems to move at a different pace after a loss. i wish it was easier! i hope you find a few minutes to honor the should-have-been birthday in a way that feels good. i'm sorry you aren't having a party and all of the good things that would have happened. ((hugs!))

Thanks ladies....I will find some way to honor my baby.......isn't it just so weird - instead of cake and ice cream, I get to be sad. Dh doesn't seem to remember what the date represents, unless I spell it out, and frankly I don't feel I should have to. Just call me defiant but that bugs me.........
Anyhow, I don't really blame him - he doesn't go through what I do monthly as a reminder...
mmarie88 - DH says we're done, but he's not preventing, he knows I'm not preventing and still nothing is happening....I don't want to go on Clomid because I feel that if God really wants us to be parents we will be ... without having to up my odds KWIM? It's a great drug and I don't want to sound like I'm putting down the use of it. Just for me, if it can't be done naturally then I guess that's my answer....KWIM?

((April)). I've got sad dates coming up, too. On Rivi's birthday, we'll have Chipotle burritos (the one meal we ate while he was alive, after he'd been whisked off to the NICU). We'll have a small birthday cake, and we'll release a balloon for him. Is there anything like this that you can do to honor the day?
As far as hubbies go, mine won't remember Rivi's birthday unless I tell him. He can't remember MY birthday or our anniversary, either. So don't take that personally.
I don't really - but I worry people think I'm crazy when I want to commemorate that date somehow...

I'm looking online, trying to find a reasonably priced piece of jewelry....thinking I could wear it more often, but dedicate the month of October to that necklace or whatever...(and possibly January too...)

((April)). It's not crazy to celebrate your baby ANYTIME YOU WANT TO. I think a piece of jewelry would be nice. For October, you can choose opal or pink tourmaline as the birthstone. Opal is fragile, though, so don't get a ring or bracelet. A necklace or earrings could be beautiful. Or you could get a mother's ring including all of your children.
When we renew our vows, we'll have wedding rings made with pink tourmaline.
