Default Procedures done and weird stuff going on... help?

I went to the Dr today and was informed that there are a few procedures she would like me to get done. I am sure that just about everyone has had these done because she tells me that everyone with PCOS will have to go thru this at least once. I am hoping that someone that has had these done could give me the down and dirty truth... what they do? Does it hurt? uncomfortable? Should I take off work?
1) Biopsy of my uterus
2) pelvic ultrasound

I know that compared to some these may be a walk in the park... but I am very uncomfortable when it comes to someone poking around my whoo ha.

**Update**
Ok, so I had my biopsy on the 16 of August. I was supposed to get AF one week after. The Dr said there would be some light spotting... I spotted for 6 days after. Some light and some moderate, nothing like a normal af. Then I didn't get AF. Now this past Friday the 1st (I think) I started spotting, well that lasted 2 days. Now it's gone. What is going on with me? Could I be prego? Or is my body just trying to cope with the biopsy? I don't get it. Anyone else have any weird things happen after their biopsy?

Oh yea, my dh and I are ttc so being prego I guess could be a possibility.

I wish I could tell you what they do and what to expect but I can't. I will tell you that I understand your being uncomfortable, it certainly isn't fun but it is a necessary evil and it will be over and done with very quickly. I really hope your results are good. Please try not to worry and let us know how things go.

I have had the pelvic ultrasound. It was uncomfortable but not painful. I had the inner ultrasound with the wand thingy cover with a condom, very weird and uncomfortable, but not painful. The outer ultrasound was the same type that pregnant women get, and it was easy.

A woman ultrasound tech did mine and she made me feel as comfortable as possible by telling me what to expect. Her constant reassuring me, helped alot.

I've never had a uterine biopsy, but I assume he's doing it to make sure your lining hasn't become pre-cancerous? I've heard it described as a big pinch. Don't know if that's accurate, or if they give you something to ease it.

The ultrasound is easy. They just insert a wand (it's like a thin, short penis - they even put a condom on it for sterility) into your vagina and turn it to take pics of your ovaries, uterus and cervix. It's not uncomfortable at all - just a little weird.

I'm curious on the biopsy also. I will be having that procedure done next month and wanted to know if I should take off work.

The ultrasound wasn't that bad, just a tad uncomfortable.

ditto angie - i had an inner and outer pelvic ultrasound. uncomfortable, but bearable. i'm not sexually active, so i get pretty nervous about people poking around down there, too. i had a female tech and i was covered with a sheet the whole time. so i guess it was as good as could be expected. she was able to tell me right then that there were no cysts on my ovaries and everything looked healthy.

i haven't had a uterine biopsy. i hope that is not too awful for you, too.

gyn procedures really freak me out, but really its ok to freak out and be embarrassed about freaking out. Just get it done if it's necessary. Think of all the people who are frightened of the dentist. It's natural for people to be uncomfortable with certain procedures. Take someone with you if you want. Tell the docs you're uncomfortable and to hurry. A pelvic ultrasound doesn't hurt, but I thought it was pretty darn awful, especially since they didn't tell me it was going to be a pelvic ultrasound and I thought it was going to be the over the belly type, so I was shocked. Be brave and it will probably go waaaaaaaaaaaay better than you fear.

So I called my mom surprising enough she actually had a biopsy today by what she explained it doesn't sound very inviting. Except hers may have been differant because she is doing it for her hysterectomy. It's tough being a chick.

Is there a way for them to do an external pelvic ultra sound?

There is but it doesn't show as much. It will be ok I promise. The few times I have had one it wasn't even really uncomfortable, just slightly because of the situation lol. You will be fine! Good luck!

Ok, so now I am freaking out. For this biopsy on the 16th I have to get a shot in my whoo ha! Not on the outside.. IN... To block the pain of them taking a piece of my uterus. My mom also said that she was still able to feel it a bit even with the shot IN the whoo ha.. I am so scared right now I am sure my blood pressure is way up and I have tears in my eyes just thinking about it.

Ok guys, I had the blood test and the biopsy done. Oh it wasn't fun. The blood test was a piece of cake, but the biopsy is a differant story. ick! It was not fun. It didn't hurt really bad, but it hurt. It was worse then any period cramp I have ever gotten. Thanks for all of your support. I'll get my results Thur or Friday. I'll let you all know how it went.
