update from the doctor

so I finally went back to see my gyno dr this past friday, and i didn't realize it had been that long but he i hadn't seen him since october of 05! but anyways, he didnt give me an ultrasound this time which i was pretty shocked by and he did a pelvic exam. i told him how i really wanted to be tested for cushings and asked him if he had seen alot of pcos+cushings together, he said no it's just usually one or the other but he was very thorough with me, i don't think he was too familiar with cushings but he made sure he knew wut he needed to as my dr. luckily i was his only patient so he had more time. he got on the computer looking for the best way to diagnose cushings and decided we would do the 24 urine. he said after i do that if it does come back i have cushings he'll refer me to an endo and let him take care of me for that. he said he really wants me to get the guardasil shot because my chances for uterine/cervical cancer are already very high so i'm going to be starting that within the next week. he perscribed me some medicine to take by mouth for the hair but he said i wouldn't start seeing results for probably about 6 months. i told him i wanted to try metformin again so he has me at 500mg at dinner for a week then 1,000 mg. and i guess if i doing okay after all that i'll see if he will bump me up to 2,000 mg.

now with the birth control. i told him i knew if i wanted to have kids someday i need to get back to taking care of myself and having a regular period. and he said you not having a period isn't going to keep you from getting pregnant. he said the reason i need my period is because all that stuff gets back up in my uterus or something like that and can cause cancer. he also said he could almost 100% guarentee i would never have a child on my own. he said to get pregnant you have to ovulate and i just can't ovulate. he said when the time came for me to have children they have several different methods they will first try, he said it might be a long road it might be a short road. i'm only 19 right now but it made me feel as i probably shouldnt wait a long time before i start trying. i need to find my prince charming and probably start trying shortly after we tie the knot. also he gave me some progestorone to take to see if we can get AF to come see me. he's tried the progestorone before and it didn't work so i'm doubting it will this time. guess we'll wait and find out.. he also has me on the BCP where i only have a 4 day period since i told him my periods interferred with my life and i would do nothing but lay in bed or the tub so were gonna see how 4 day periods are for me and he said if its still too rough we will see about where i only have a period every few months.

thanks for reading my blabbering. i'm glad to finally start all my treatments again.. oh yeah.. i lost 8 lbs in a month without even trying!! go me

1. Yes- AF is needed to clean house so cancer can't develop
2. Make sure you are really informed about the vacine before you start. So many girls have had such HORRID reactions vs. the benifit of blocking 4 of the strains. Out of hundreds of HPV, 20 are the not so nice kind.
3. Take your time on finding Mr Right. The long or short road will happen whenever the time is right for you to try. He at least didn't tell you that there was no chance in you EVER having a child, like 2 of 3 endo's told me (granted the 1 of 3 saw me post baby
