For all the wonderful cysters who read and/or responded to my previous rape thread, I just wanted to let ya'll know what's up lately.
#1: I was so touched by everyone's responses!! I am so thankful that I have cysters to share with!
#2: I have decided that I am going to see a counselor that my sister had been seeing and really liked a lot. I will ask my mom the name of this woman, and go to her for a period of time until I feel I have some sort of healing in this area.
#3: I just saw on a news special tonight called "Teens who Triumph" a girl who was "date raped." She was 14 and had been drinking, and two guys raped her, but denied it when she came forward. She wasn't going to come forward at first, but rumors spread, and she felt she needed to say something. She was afraid she would make her parents angry or disappointed, and felt it was her fault. She was so brave to face the ridicule of her entire school!!!
All that being said, I'm feeling really lead to minister to young women in this area. We've seen on this board that it is a big issue for many women, more than I ever thought. So I will be getting help for my issues with it and try to reconcile it best as I can, and pray about it, and go from there!! '

He loves me, i'm so very very happy to hear that you are able to start moving forward. It's a long road, but one traveled by many, Always remember you are never alone down this road to healing. We are all hear next to you walking it together as sisters.

That is awesome! I am so glad you are looking forward! I think the councelor is an excellent idea, but I don't think the same one your sister sees will see you - I tried that years ago and the said it's too hard to do that. Maybe it was just this councelor - for your sake I hope so, since you like the person....
That's amazing, that you feel guided towards turning this awful experience into a way to help other young women. Good luck with the councelling, and thousnads of millions of HUGE hugs!

Good luck to you and I am so impressed by your courage. Posting this thread in the first place was very brave and helped an awful lot of us confront our past and take steps to begin the healing process.

I think it's wonderul that you are going to help other young women who go through this! That is a testament to what an amazing and strong women you are! You will be such a blessing to all those women you will help. God be with you as you go on this journey!

helovesme - I'm sorry I missed the previous thread; hwvr I'm glad to hear you're taking the steps that you are. I wish I would have stepped up a lot sooner than I did when I was d/r @ 17. I did, hwvr, see a counselor for a few yrs (until after I had my son). She was great & helped alot, but it still took a long time to really overcome the depression & nightmares about it. You will be in my prayers & if you need to talk, let me know, pm me, etc.

Good for you on not giving in and letting this totally destroy your life. You are very brave and very wise to get help. Even though we are all here for you, it is not quite the same as being able to sit with someone face to face. I hope you like the counselor. Good luck and keep your chin up! You can do it!
