Default upping the dose of metformin is making my cycle longer, is this common

hi there,
i have been on metformin for 9 months now and for the last 4 or 5 months my periods were regular, came every 34-35 days, thats when i was on 1000mgs, half way through my last cycle i upped it to 1500mgs, my period still came at 34 days. since then ive been on 1500mgs but im now on cycle day 40. i had bloods taken to check for ovulation at days 21 and then 28 but both showed nothing, then i got + ovulation test around day 30, i did a test today (if i did ovulate, which i never have in my 2.5 years of ttc i am 10dpo,still early i know but i done a test today which was negative) im not surprised just wish my period would come and i could start trying instead of it confusing me like this.

did upping the dose of metformin you were on cause changes in your cycle?
