I've got my first Endocrinologist appointment tomorrow morning and i'm a bit worried now. Does anybody have any ideas about what i should expect?? The appointment has already been cancelled twice so i'm a bit anxious about it now.
Will he do any tests??
I've got a ton of information but my mind has gone blank now that it might actually happen.
I would really appreciate any help or advise anybody could offer.
((hugs)), all the best for your appointment tomorrow.
What I did with mine, was to write down the things I wanted to ask. Tablets, etc and that way I didn't forget anything.
Hope this helps, please let us know how you get on.
Eva

Just wanted to drop by and wish you good luck Eva is right ... I had my first appointment a few weeks back and I wrote down everything that I could think of regarding PCOS and all the things I wanted answered and took a note pad with me that way I could write down all the information if I couldn`t remember it all (I`m blonde - what can I say !!!!!!!!!!!!)
There is also a great link on the Soul Cysters homepage which tells you all about PCOS and what questions to ask etc ... Here is the link .. I hope it helps http://www.inciid.org/faq/pcos.html
Good Luck with everything ... and really don`t be scared ... look at it as a postive thing that you are moving forward and finding out whats wrong and how you can make it better
Take Care and if you wanna chat please feel free to E mail me at sparkibutterfly@aol.com... As a relative newbie aswell I will be happy to chat about it all
Just to wish you all the best for your appointment today and hope everything goes well.

Thank You for all your nice words, it really helps to know people are out there.
As it happens, i needn't have worried about the appointment, it went very well, i'm still grinning 'coz i'm so pleased about it.
I went in with my folder full of information and questions which i didn't even need, he covered everything!
I have to go to the main local hospital at some time over the next two weeks to have some more tests (inc the insulin one). He asked me about which treatments i am interested in so i told him i really didn't want to go back on the pill (esp Dianette) and he said, "No thats fine, you've obviously tried it and it didn't work for you so we'll try something else", thought i would have a fight on my hands but it was easy. He's prescribed Spiro for me which i wanted to try. He's examined my body and has tested for a couple of other conditions just to be sure we have a true diagnosis (they took 3 lots of blood from me !!!!! )
He even spent some time asking me how the condition and it's symptoms make me feel emotionally to find out how much it is effecting me (i imagine)
So, overall, i am very pleased, it took a lot of time and stress to actually get there to see him but it was worth it. The ball is rolling now and it's definately on the right course.
I hope other ladies feel like this when they've had their appointment.
Thank You all once again for your kind words.
Speak to you all soon
Katherine

I was too late to see your post but I am glad everything went well.
Question; What is Spiro and what does it do? I have been meaning to ask.

Hi Katherine
that's brilliant that your appointment went so well, sounds like a dream come true! I noticed you're in Devon, well I was supposed to be moving to Cornwall in a year or so but Himself has decided on Devon instead (me, I'm not fussed, give me the phone and the Internet and I'll move almost anywhere) - what's your gyn's name and what hospital is he at? Cos as soon as we get there we'll be ttc.
Hope the Spiro works for you, good luck!
hugs
Shira
