Default urgent? want to be soy tomorrow.........

Hi all,

I would greatly appreciate any help with this.

A brief history..........I am ttc no.2 and before my last pregnancy i suffered amenorrhea (no periods at all) and conceived with clomid.

Since giving birth I have shed a lot of weight and my periods have returned but in a very irregular manner. Since stopping bcp's in December they have been 6 weeks, 5 weeks, 7 weeks and now I am nearly at 8 weeks with nothing.

I want to try Soy to encourage ovulation and my question is do I have to have a period before I can start it?? I know you normally start it on certain cycle days but I don't know how long I will wait for a period. My Dr says that I could ovualte at anytime and if I did and managed to conceive that it would be ok, even with having a long cycle. So I figured I could just take the Soy at any point?????

Please help!!! Need to do something soon!!!

TIA!

Andrea.

Andrea,

Before you take or eat soy supplements or foods, you should speak to your doctor, preferably your endocrinologist. Soy can affect the function of your thyroid and if you are taking synthyroid can make it less effective. As you know, thyroid problems can also cause infertility so you don't want to increase that!
