How many different users must you give reputation to before you can hit the same person again? 15

It sounds complicated! What is reputation used for other than the above? I guess people can use it as an indication of how much weight to put on a particular post. Kat you say in the 1st post here - make sure you have reputation at least equal to 10 (what you apparently start with). Can you lose reputation? Is there a way to see your "reputation history" - ie what posts people liked, disliked etc?
