Question Using BCP to avoid period this month?

I need some advice. I've read online that you can skip your period by just starting a new pack instead of starting the "white" (placebo) pills. I really am interested in this, as I am going to be on vacation, starting the day I would begin taking the placebos. My fiance follows biblical laws (Leviticus) and so we can't sleep in the same room while I'm menstruating... so, we'd have to pay for 2 rooms if I can't use this method. Has anyone done this to skip a single period? All advice welcome, thanks in advance!

I don't know but I was about to make a thread with the same question. I have a vacation coming up in August and I don't want to have my period then.

I would talk to your doctor and see what they say. I know I plan on talking to mine on Monday. As I'm getting married in August and don't want to be on my period then.

i'm scheduled to get my period on my wedding day.. so i'm going to start a new pack instead of taking the sugar pills. i've done this before with my yasmin and it's been great. however, when i skipped for 2 months... the 2nd month i was spotting...so i know for me on yasmin, i can skip 1 month and be fine... i'd definitely talk to your doc though because each pill is different....some may cause you to spot while others don't. GOOD LUCK!

Almost, did your doctor tell you that you could do that? I am on yasmin, too, btw.

I used to start a new pack when I wanted to skip a cycle and I never had any issues. I do agree speak with your doctor first just to make sure. Usually skipping 1 every now and then doesn't hurt anything.

Whenever I want to skip, I just skip the placebos and it skips it. Sometimes there is some spotting. The doctor said it was fine as long as it isn't very often.

My doc told me skipping the placebo pills would be okay, if I needed to skip my period. however, I tried it, and it didn't work!

Best of luck.
