Question using cinnamon to control blood sugar?

has anyone used cinnamon to control blood sugar? was it successful? how much did you have to use? how long did it take to work? any other information?

i used cinnamon for several months, but couldn't really say if it helped or not. i ran out of it a couple of months ago and didn't get more until recently. i was also taking gtf chromium. i just started using cinnamon again today. i use a tsp of it in my fruit smoothy. i like the way it makes the smoothy taste.

Default yes it works...

Do a search for cinnamon in these threads and do an overall search of the internet for cinnamon and blood sugar.

I ordered mine from Erma's Herbs. It works fine. I no longer have the problem and no longer take cinnamon.

Wish you well!

I have been using cinnamon for almost two weeks. I think it is wonderful. I felt so good about it, I told my mom who uses exercise and some prescribed pill to control her blood sugar. After using it for two days she says her blood sugar count dropped 20 points!!!!!!!!!

I have been using the ground cinnamon that you buy to cook with. I read an article that said to use 1/2 to 3/4 teaspoon after every meal.

I did a google search for and found a bunch of sites, including a USDA site. Here's the site that talked about dosage though.

I couldn't stand to take the recommended dosage of cinnamon without taking it in pill form.

I purchased my capsules through Erma's herbs (http://www.ermasherbs.com/ ) and thought they worked great!

When I went to a specialist at UNC Chapel Hill, she was impressed with what the herb had done, but still wouldn't give it any validity. It took away from her credibility in my eyes.

Wish you luck,
Cammie
