My Mood: Points: 1,172.66 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,172.66 | Vaginal discharge (maybe TMI sorry) I am relativley new to PCOS. I was diagnosed last fall. I need your help. Has anyone experienced this? I have a vaginal discharge that is present pretty much all month and increases the week before AF. It is whitish and string-like, fibrous... I see it in the toilet after I urinate, but know for a fact that it is from the vagina. My doctor says is my response to BCs. That my body builds up too much uterine lining. But in the ultrasounds, my uterine lining measurement is under normal. And if that is the case, arent the BCs purpose to prevent too much uterin lining build up? It just doenst make sense to me and worries me a little bit (besides being painful at times). But if this is something that others experience with no worries, I'll feel better. Also, my Dr did a culture and it was not any sort of bacteria. |

My Mood: Points: 7,388.74 Bank: 4,350.67 Total Points: 11,739.40 | i always have discharge too. ive had many checks done for yeast infection and all of that and nothing has ever come up. my old dr used to always tell me it was a PCOS thing because there are always cysts disolving etc. i dont know what it is, but i have it all month long.and it is very clearly there during DTD.
it makes it very hard to distingish different CM throughout the month too when looking for FCM.
there was actually a thread somewhere that was specifically about this and the response was quite large and all the same.
dont fret. it seems unles there are any signs with it, like itchyness or burning etc that it is quite a common thing.
some women have clear discharge, some yellow, some white.
we are all different

If it is it's just the normal 14 day cycle thing where ur ment to b most fertile (in a normal 27 day cycle at day 14 an the days after ur most fertile) but with having PCOS pbviosuly u don't ovulate sometimes but ur body still makes the discharge . |

Points: 12,736.82 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 12,736.82 | I agree, probably just normal cervical mucous (CM) Now, if it changes color, or smell, or you have itching or discomfort, then you may want to get checked out for an infection.
Most of us always have some type of CM, and usually it gets stretchier/thinner around Ovulation or AF. It's normal.
Obviously when on BCP you don't Ov, but that doesn't change the estrogen in your body from changing your CM I think. I think the main reason is the abundance of estrogen, we have it in our bodies and the pill usually has some in it.

That same thing happened to me, I changed the pill and the discharge....known as the whites went away. It is a common side effect but not one that you have to live with.
