Hi,
I am a patient at UBC Repro Med. I am hoping to do DI/IUI this cycle. I have been on Metformin 1000mg since October and this cycle 100 mg of Clomid.
At my first U/S on day 12, I had some follicles 2 -14mm on each side. The Dr. said that my ovaries looked PCOS. it was the first confirmation although I suspected it months ago and have been working to lose weight, etc. A dr. at the Women's Health Centre said I didn't present as PCOS. I was not sufficiently overweight, acned, etc! I was 30lbs more than ideal for me but it doesn't show on me. I wish I was more persistent re: tests and things.
Today was day 14 U/S and the follicles haven't gotten much bigger. I have to go back for another U/S on Monday. It IS a little early for me as I didn't have a surge until day 17 last cycle and expect it to be the same this time.
I'm a Victoria clinic patient.
Just wanted to point out that not everyone responds to clomid and that might be why there isn't much happening...hopefully you are just a slow developer.
I know there are many women on this site that are are UBC patients check under IVF by location. The only down side is you have to join the site to view the boards but I have learned alot from previous clinics there.
Good Luck!
I wanted to let you know that I was a patient at the UBC Fertility Clinic at VGH. I conceived my Daughter with their help. I did a total of 8 rounds of clomid with no succes, so if this cycle doesn't work for you, don't be discouraged!
Please PM me anytime, I'd love to lend any support that I can.
Thanks for the message. I would PM you but I don't know how!! I'm fairly new to discussion boards, etc.!
Last cycle was actually pretty good. I had two good follicles before I injected with Ovidrel. I had scheduling problems with work so I'm not sure that the IUI was on the best day. And it didn't take . . .
I am responding to the Clomid so I'm on Clomid for round 2 and I think that I will be able to do IUIs on consecutive days this time.
Wow! 8 rounds . . . I know it's a matter of statistics but I may be discouraged before that. I don't want to stay on Clomid for more than one more cycle before moving on.
How were you able to keep going? In retrospect, it was obviously worth it -- your daughter is very cute!
The clinic has now moved to the Women's Health Centre at the Shaughnessy site. It's a much nicer space -- very new and modern. A far cry from what they had at VGH I understand!
