Question Vaniga and hormones?

Hi Carrie!
I just read about Vaniga the other day on this site (I think! lol) I was wondering where you got it, and roughly what it cost?
I've read that you need to know if your hormones are in order, or if they are messed up because that's supposed to possibly be a factor in whether the cream will work.
I wouldn't want you to think it was not working if there was a reason for it, and think it was a waste of money.
I'm looking forward to hearing how it works for you. I can't imagine a day that I won't have to shave, but maybe it's something I should be imagining. Wouldn't that be wonderful!
I hope everything works the way you want it to, Carrie!

I got Vaniqa on prescription from my doctor last year. I tried it for a good few months and can safely say I had a horrible reaction.. maybe it felt more prominant because I was rubbing it in twice a day.. but it seemed like my hair was growing faster! I don't know. it also dried out my skin and made it sting quite a lot.

I want laser treatment in future but.. try it, you might like it.. it's no miracle product though.

I used Vaniqua about two years ago. I did not see a differnce at all. My doctor was hesitant to give it to me but I begged anyway. I paid like $50 for a one month tube. But differnt things work for different people. Good luck!

Default FYI- Can Cause birth defects

One warning about this cream. I spoke with my Endo about trying this out for my facial hair. He said he would let me if I really wanted to but said if I were to get pregnant with a boy while on it there may possibly be birth defects with his genitals. It is a testosterone suppressor. I decided that even though we are not trying for any babies being on MET make it a little more risky. Not worth it for me.
Not trying to scare anyone just thought you all might want to know.

Hi All! I have used Vaniqa off and on in the past. Each time I used it worked for me. Sometimes the difference was very little. But the important thing for me is that I noticed a difference. I saw the most beneift when I used it in combination with my Metformin.

I just started taking it today, but my endo made it clear that if I miss a dose, I might as well not be using it at all. I am very worried because I have had bad acne in the past before taking Yasmin, and am terrified that it will come back. Has anyone seen an increase in their acne due to this med?

To everyone taking it, I wish you good results.

I've never used it, but I noticed the tube in my parents' bedroom a few years ago.

I came home and was rooting through the medicine cabinet again a few weeks ago looking for something, and I noticed that the vaniqua tube was still there...like, it was still dated from a few years ago. So I guess it didn't help her at all because she never got it refilled.

Hi Carrie, I am new toi the forum and I jsut started vaniqa two days ago. After years of bleaching, waxing plucking and I had laser hair removal (very expensive and ineffective for me at least) This was kind of a last resort--please let me know how it goes and I will do the same. Cross our fingers!

Hi,
I'm pretty new here and wanted to give you my opinion on Vaniqa.
I live in Germany and Vaniqa costs 55 Euros. Considering that my last tube lasted 4 months it's ok for me. I'm using it on my upper lip and chin.

Only after 3 weeks I noticed that hair growth started to slow down. For a while I only applied it once a day, but now I'm back to using it twice a day as it is more effective. There are still some hairs from time to time which I pluck, but it is much less and I spend less time in front of the mirror.
The only problem is that as hair growth has slowed down so much that it is sometimes difficult to get some hairs out.

I would like to use it on my sideburns, but I'm still undecided in how to remove the hair there. I don't want to shave and plucking is so difficult.

To make it short, I'm very happy that I started using Vaniqa as it is the best option for me at the moment. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work for everybody, but I would still give it a try.

I tried this last year and my skin took a bad reaction to it i had acne which i have not had in years and my skin got very dry. The hair did slow down in growth but i was still shaving every 2 days instead of the usual 1.
