Hey dee,

I had also tired vaniqa, and it didnt work for me either. There are many women who say it really did help, but you must stay on it sometimes it takes a year to see results.... i would hang in there, and try it, if you dont pluck much, it may work for you!

Good luck

i have used it too, but i will say its a long process, it only turned the hair white, which i found was pointless, now i dont use it just pluck my face every other day

Yes!!! I have been on it for about 5 months now. I didn't show any results at first but about after 2months of use I noticed I wasn't needing to pluck as often. It hasn't worked as well on the side of my face as I would like but it is better than nothing!!!! Hope it works for you too!!!

i'm going to ask my doc for a Rx tomorrow. Even if it takes a few months, i'd love to see some sort of result. It takes me forever to pluck so lately i've been shaving I hate that so much....

so most people didn't have a good outcome with it? My derm wrote a rx for me and i went to get it filled it was $75. Insurance covered none. So I didn't get it. I think I will stick with the plucking.....

i asked my doctor for a Rx for it and he said it'd be a waste of my money. he said i'd notice a bigger difference if i dropped the weight...

Thumbs up

I've been using Vaniqa for almost two months now. In the past, I would shave in the morning before work. But then, I would have 5 o'clock shadow by 3pm!! I would shave as soon as I got home. Then by bedtime I would feel fuzzy all over again.

Now I can go almost the entire day with only shaving once in the morning. I sometimes still do another one before bed because the DH loves to caress my face so much.

Vaniqa costs me $86 for one tube, but to me it is totally worth it. My self-esteem has improved so much!!!!

If the cost and insurance not covering it is an issue, I'd suggest talking to you DR about an rx for Spironolactone. It's also a pill to control high BP, so your insurance company should cover it. My dh's insurance company didn't even question the rx when I took it to get it filled. And even if it's not covered under your plan, it's not that expensive. A 3 month rx here in Alberta is only $30. Definitely worth looking into. Good luck.

For me I have been on it about 6months.It has worked for some parts of my face but other part like neck and chin it hasn't worked.I am still using it b/c the pharmacy said it can take anywhere from 4mon-1year to work completely. For me I figure if it is helping a little that is better than nothing!!I also bleach though too. So it helps the dark hairs not be so noticeable to others but to me it still is. I have asked my hubby to tell me if he can notice the hairs and when I need to bleach again. You don't want to bleach too much b/c then your facial hair will be really blonde.
