Question "VANIQA" Stopping hair growth?

Hello Ladies,,
I was wondering if any one has tried "VANIQA" to help reduce hair growth on the face... My doctor wrote me a perscription for it and was hoping anyone would have some positive feed back on it.. It says to apply twice a day...

Default tried it

I tried Vaniqua when it first came out. It worked okay on my annoying chin hairs. They still grew but at a slower rate. So I still had to tweeze. And you do have to apply twice daily and keep up with it.

I found it hard to be consistent but when I used it regularly it did work. I'd still be using it but between lotions for dry skin, lotion with sunscreen, eye cream, exfoliators and acne medications I have too many lotions and potions to keep up with!

Hope that helps!

Thank You for your reply.....
I know how it is with all the steps it takes to make us pretty...lol... Sometimes I do not remember my name.. Let alone applying cream to my face twice a day.. But I guess I will give it a try for a while and see what happens....

It worked really well for me. All the light, fine hairs were just gone, and the dark, coarse ones grew much slower and some of them just disappeared, as well. I only used it once a day so I'd probably have had better luck if I'd actually followed the directions and used it twice.

I miss it like crazy now that I'm pregnant. I'd forgotten just how hairy my face really is.

I use VANIQA and I LOVE it. It worked great for me. I have horribly coarse hair on my chin and neck and sideburns. While using Vaniqa the hair become very soft and grew back very slowly. I used to pluck EVERY single day....but while using it i only have to pluck once a week or less. The only bad thing is the cost. It is $50 a tube for me. I found that after about 4 months I only had to apply it once a day. But a tube only lasts a month when you are applying twice a day. It is so worth it to me!

About how long after you started using it did you start to see results? The doctors told me it was $50 a bottle and that my insurance would not cover it.. But, when I picked up my precriptions they told me $5.00 (which is what I pay per precriptions anyway.. Hopefully it's covered and they just didn't make a mistake.. $50 for that little tube..... omg... I feel bad but I was not going to say anything.... Let them bill me lol

It took about a month for me to see a differance, and then it just kept getting better after that.

That was going to be my nxt question. Could I ask my Endocrinologist about it or would I need to see a Dermatologist?

Thanks,
Claire

I believe a dermatologist, but I wanted to discuss my hypothyroid and possible PCOS signs with him, if it all could be related..

Default VANIQA - keep using it - it works!

I have a problem with black hairs growing on my chin and under my chin - I've plucked, used hair removal creams, shaved - you name it - the most successful thing I've found is VANIQA. I had to keep plucking, but using the Vaniqa - minimally, 1x a day really does work. Within two weeks my hair growth was under control. You do have to keep up with applying the cream though! I learned the hard way that it does come back - fortunately it didn't come back as bad, but I had to start over with the plucking, cream applying. Now I apply cream every other night. It's expensive - about $43 for a small tube. It's worth it though ladies!!! Now I'm trying to tackle the weight gain by doing a low carb diet - so tough for a "carbo-holic!" God bless everyone!!
