Question Vaniqa effective for facial hair?

Just prescribed Vaniqa today and wondered if anyone had any experiences using the cream. Dr. said it was a relatively new treatment option for excessive facial hair. How long have you taken? what are your results/ if any? Thank you in advance!

I've been using Vaniqua for the last 9mos or so and I think it's fantastic! I did start on the BCP Yasmin at the same time though so that may have also helped. I only use the Vaniqua on and under my chin/upper neck area since that's where the very dark thick hairs were growing, about 30-50 of them, very beardlike thick hairs. In fact, I was plucking nearly every day or other day, many of the hairs would get ingrown, some would break off instead of pull out and I had a lot of dark brown scar/spots under my chin that wouldn't cover well with makeup. Those have almost completely faded now and I don't pluck more than once a week or even 2 weeks. I'm no longer obsessed with checking my under chin area, no more little black dots of hair that haven't broken the surface anymore. When I do pluck the hairs are much finer and let loose easily. I have dark facial hair along the sides of my face and mustache area but those have become finer from the Yasmin. I pluck the mustache area one every couple of weeks too. If I shave the sides of my face it can take weeks to get noticeable again. I only use the Vaniqua under the chin because it's so expensive but I made my last tube last for about 8 mos!

Thumbs up

I noticed my hair on my chin--like the previous poster, mine are thick, black and coarse--becoming softer and finer within a week. As long as I used it at least nightly, and usually 4-5 days per week during the day (I'd forget if in a hurry), I was seeing improvement. I think after two months I noticed that it was a good week to ten days in between plucking.

Like I mentioned on another post, taking care of two new babies has taken its toll on my "beauty regimen" and my poor Vania tube has been quite lonely. Lately it's been pluck what I can when I see it. But now that things are calming down, I'm pulling the tube back out and starting it again.

Vaniqa really does work when you use it.

Smile working for me

I have been using Vaniqua since July and it has really helped!! I have had to shave my upper lip, chin and neck everyday for 15 years, and yet in a few short months Vaniqua has really helped! Even laser hair removal did not help me. I shelled out nearly $1,000.00 for nothing.

Good luck with the Vaniqua.
